U.S. Players: What Banking Option Do You Use?

6 replies • Last post

Hey CL members! I have a question that is primarily for U.S. users, but am interested in opinions from around the globe.

I am thinking of opening a bank account strictly for my online gambling. I have had some issues depositing via my credit cards at some online casinos (ahem, High Noon) and want to be able to process a wire transfer both for deposit and withdrawal, but am unsure as to how the experience is with this. I currently deposit via credit card and withdraw through check...

My question is: Do anyone of you deposit via wire transfers to online casinos? Withdraw? What is the speed like and overall how is the experience?

Thanks guys!

As you know I am not American but I think you're fighting against the tide on that one. Most of the American banks are going to stop gambling transactions if they know that is what is going on due to the UIGEA law.

Time for a trip to Switzerland perhaps? 😉

Always play it safe! Consult our list of rogue casinos and warnings before depositing at a new casino.

I deposit with my check card, and the only withdrawal I have ever requested went right into my back account with no problems. I might try a check withdrawal, next time, which I hope is SOON! 🙂

I also deposit by visa credit card and withdrawal by check.
If you like to deposit by wire transfer, the mimimum deposit requirement by this method is usually high and it might take several days in the process. Withdrawal by wire transfer takes a longer time to hit your bank acct compared to the check withdrawal and your bank might charge a small fee. So, wire transfer is not my withdrawal method of choice.

Hope, Are you talking about a bank debit card? I would be so afraid they would take out more than I authorized.

Nope. I have done this several times, and they do add a very small fee, but it is under like three bucks, I believe. They never take out more, but I always read the reviews before depositing. I use my regular Visa Check card and I withdrew straight to my bank account the ONE time I won enough to withdraw and I had no problems. Just read the reviews first, and you should be fine. 🙂

Oh, and one time I did have a business take out more than they were supposed to. It was a mix up with the biz (NOT casino related). I called the bank, and they added the funds back IMMEDIATELY while they investigated, so I never felt like I lost anything. After the investigation was over, they agreed that the business was in the wrong, but the point I am trying to make is they credited those funds immediately, so I didn't have to wait while they conducted the investigation, which was nice. So, if anything like that ever happened (which it should not if you read the casino reviews FIRST) you would have some recourse.
