Hiya CL Members,
We hear a lot of talk about countries who place restrictions on playing at online casinos, but online software have restrictions too that i don't quite understand.
For example Rival software is based in Canada yet they restrict Canadian residents to play at their casinos. This is not a law placed by the Government, this is a ruling from the software!
If a country allows online gambling why do some software banned certain countries?
Maybe they think Canadians are too clever for the software....
It can only be the fear of legal action. For some reason they must have received legal advice that it would be better for them to not accept Canadians.
Always play it safe! Consult our list of rogue casinos and warnings before depositing at a new casino.

I agree Cl-Ed, there definitely should be some legal purpose behind the restriction. On the other hand, are Canadians Allowed to gamble at all? I do not have any info about the matter.
Yes Canadians are allowed to play online and are welcome to play at just about any online casino software sites. Why Rival would have legal concerns when the rest don't i can't figure out.
Maybe because they are based in Canada and don't want to jeopardize their license and steer clear of any legal complications as Ed has suggested.
It would be nice to have a reason from the software why there is restrictions on countries that are legal to play. I have seen so many frustrated players who register an account only to find out their country is blocked from playing and don't understand why.
And that is why we here at Casino Listings hide casinos that you cannot play at from our bonus lists, and we show a little flag and tell you if the casino does not accept players from your country on our review pages.
Just make sure you have the correct country set up the top of the page where you see a flag (it is auto-detected based on your IP address but it isn't perfect, especially if you live near the border of another country).
Another reason to stick with CL, as if y'all needed one!
