Getting real money sent to you via a check from winnings at online casinos

3 replies • Last post

CASINOS PAY YOU REAL MONEY FOR WINNINGS IN THE FORM OF A CHECK IN THE UNITED STATES. AND CAN YOU USE A PREPAID CREDIT CARD ??/ I WAN'T TO GAMBLE ONLINE BUT NOT IF I DO NOT GET MY WINNINGS. I WAS TOLD THEY STOPPED SENDING YOU MONEY FOR YOUR WINNINGS AND THAT YOU COULD NOT USE A CREDIT CARD. I CAN UNDERSTAND NOT GETTING INTO DEBT CREDIT WISE BUT IF IT IS A PREPAID CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD THEN WHAT IS THE PROBLEM???

It is due to a law called the UIGEA which stops banks from processing transactions connected with "illegal online gambling". Except the politicians forgot to define what "illegal online gambling" actually is, so the banks don't know and the players don't know either. So to be safe the U.S. banks just refuse to handle anything to do with online gambling.

You can sometimes use a prepaid card, the only way you will know if it works is to try it. A couple of folks were talking about it here in this thread the other day: The new guy! :3

Most casinos that accept players from the USA will send you your winnings via a check, or ACH if it is a larger amount.

The casinos we recommend are at the top of our homepage and even right at the bottom of this page! For you in the USA, I would say start at the Club World group of casinos which includes: Club USA, Manhattan Slots, High Noon Casino, Aladdin's Gold, Lucky Red Casino, All Star Slots. Others that are worth a try include Win A Day Casino, Slots Plus, 3Dice, and Bodog.

I have gotten a check in the mail from a casino several times since I began gambling online. If the casino is reputable you will have no problem cashing it, but be aware: the fees for the casino to draft the check and send it to you (usually via Fedex) are quite high. I believe the last spot I got a check from had a fee of $30 that came off your winnings, so my $250 became $220.

Seeing as how you are a U.S. citizen you really need to be playing at an established casino with a good reputation. Since online gambling isn't "legal" in the US, gamblers like us really don't have any rights when it comes to being protected by a crappy casino. I would consult with the list that the crew at casino listings has posted to find a good U.S. friendly site. They have never steered me wrong and they will do good for you too.
