Does your partner gamble?

13 replies • Last post

Hiya,

I was curious to see how many of you have partners that gamble. If I had a gambling partner I'd be in trouble. He must like to gamble for occasional nights of fun but I don't need a partner in crime. Its double the spending cash anyway.

How does your partner feel about gambling? Do you prefer a partner that shares in your passion for casinos online and off?

Sophia, I wouldn't expect anyone to wish for their partner to have a gambling problem. I was simply wondering if your partner shares the same interest in gambling. You enjoy slots, he/she enjoys poker or doesn't like to gamble at all etc. Do you ever go to the casino together? Things like that.

I actually am getting prepared to write a blog about this topic! My wife is generally not into gambling as much as I am, although she does enjoy throwing money in slots occasionally. I have seen that since my foray into gambling as a hobby, she has become more interested, and we will be taking more trips out to land based casinos.

Sports betting I don't think she could ever do though. That will be my domain! 😂

My husband is not a big gambler. He enjoys the occasional land based trip but that's pretty much it. He never ever gambles online. Poor thing doesn't know what he's missing he he he 😂

I have actually never had a partner that enjoyed gambling as much as I do. That's for the best since one of us needs have some control.

No my wife has no interest in gambling at all. Just about the only time I have ever seen her gamble is putting a bet on the Melbourne Cup (a horse race) once a year.

Its one of those things that most people in Australia bet on. Its a tradition, its the biggest race in the country and is run once a year every November. Many people bet on it who would never otherwise bet on anything.

thanks for explaining, it doesn't seem that strange now.

It's such a pleasure watching a race, a great tradition, indeed.

I do not want my partner to gamble, though I quite enjoy betting 😂 I always get bored when being in relationship with someone who has the same interests....

Sophia - certainly on the big horse races in the UK the bookies always seem to have a "housewives' darling". Whether this refers to the horse or the jockey is anybody's bet 🙂 It is chosen I guess because of the volume of small wagers put on the horse > highlighting a bundle of females raiding the gas bill to back the runner.

Heaven's knows if this is true or not - maybe a casino rep on here can shed some light on the mystery...

I love horse racing and am in the US. I don't think it is unusual at all. My dad was a huge horse racing man and i grew up at the racetrack and it is something that i have always held fond memories of my father. He was an exceptional handicapper and taught me a lot.
