The Gamblers fib............

3 replies • Last post

Hi CL Members,

Ok i am going to be the first one to stand up in the room and admit......yes i have fibbed!!! I will be spinning merrily away and my cell will ring and a friend on the other end will ask me ....."what ya doing"? I immediately turn down the sound of the bells and whistles on the slot and say.......ohhhhh just watching tv and you? Lmaoooooooo sometimes ya feel like you just have to do it because some people just don't get the gambler.

Or i have gone to the land casinos and been gone several hours and everyone will ask me where ya been? Ohhhh i was out bumming around ya know!! The ironic thing is as much as i enjoy gambling, for the most part people that are in my life are NOT gamblers. These non gamblers tend to think that gambling is strictly taboo! They feel it is a complete sin to have such a hobby.

What is interesting though, is if i win big everyone thinks its great!! Then its all good. I have come to realize that sometimes being completely honest in terms of gambling is not worth the controversy that is faced.

Have you ever felt this way or felt the need to tell the gamblers fib?

I completely agree with you - who said telling a fib was wrong anyway? i call it being practical.

I would say there are plenty of things in life people often don't want others to know, so its no big deal. Its about the reason ... if you know people are going to be unreasonably judgemental of you because they don't agree with how you entertain yourself then fair enough.

But it can be a big deal if you're hiding stuff for the wrong reason, like you have a gambling problem. If you know it then don't hide it - tell someone and get some help (we have a link at the bottom of every page on the site with info on problem gambling for anyone who is interested).

Always play it safe! Consult our list of rogue casinos and warnings before depositing.
