Do you do anything special for Valentine's Day?

I have never done much. I went on a date one year, but that was a long time ago. I used to just buy the boys some heart shaped cookies. I should send my mom a card, but I never think of Vday as being any more than just another day. I do like those chewy peppermint candies with the hearts in the middle, lol. At Christmas they have trees in the middle, and those are the only two times a year I can get those candies. Such a sweet tooth, lol.

But to answer your questions, it is really just typically another day.

To me its a bit of a Hallmark holiday designed to sell cards and gifts. But it doesn't win me many brownie points with Mrs CL-Ed so I usually cave in and take her out to dinner or something.

I feel the same exact way (Hallmark holiday, lol), so I have never been big on Valentine's Day. I did like the movie. 😉

I did like V-Day when the boys were young. I actually enjoyed helping them pick out valentines to give to their classmates. We would sit and fill them out, crossing off the names on this list as we went, and adding a few candies to the envelope (those gross little message heart candies, lol) or taping a sucker to the outside. I also enjoyed helping them make their "mailboxes," out of shoeboxes and such, and seeing what creative designs they would come up with. Then, after the party in school helping them read all the messages from their friends (and maybe sneaking a candy or two). THAT was when I enjoyed Valentine's Day. 🙂

I would love to do out of the ordinary on Valentine's Day but we both work that day. I already got him a cute kitty couple Valentine's card and a won't-go-flat-pillow..... 😲 😂

Awww...that is so sweet! I love my mom, too. She is 83 years old, and I wish I had half of her energy. I called he last night and we had a nice talk. She is in Florida for the winter, and she returns to MN in April or May each spring.
