Favorite and Funny MOVIE Quotes

12 replies • Last post

Hello Everyone!

I think we have a thread, somewhere, about funny gambling quotes (or maybe I dreamed this, lol). Anyhoo.....I love quotes, and I thought it would be fun to share favorite, and/or funny, quotes from movies.
Don't worry if you don't have your favorites or you don't remember many, because you are allowed to do a little research and find some quotes that "strike you" through Google or your favorite search engine.

One of my favorite (and funny) quotes is a variation of a nicer, more well-intentioned quote. Everyone has heard (possibly from mom?) "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything nice at all."

One of my faves is from the movie, "Steel Magnolias," where Clairee Belcher (Olympia Dukakis, says,
"If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit by me!"

That one always makes me laugh.

Share yours now! Smile

I am horrible at remembering things like this but I did love the movie. I know he says something like "I want to park my bike in your garage" lol and the girl says something like "oh yeah" likes she really excited.

This one will make you hungry, lol, a la Anthony Hopkins in his famous Silence of the Lambs role:

A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

Aww! Thanks for reviving and contributing to this thread. I forgot all about it, lol! Great quote, B'Slim. I like that! Smile

How about some quotes from some Academy Award winning films?

"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." (Gone with the Wind)

"I put it all on Lucky Dan. Half a million dollars to win." (The Sting)

"All work and no play make Jack a dull boy." (Bridge Over River Kwai).

"Stern, if this factory ever produces a shell that can actually be fired, I'll be very unhappy." (Schindler's List)

"If anything in this life is certain, if history has taught us anything, it is that you can kill anyone. (The Godfather, Part 2)

"I don't train girls." (Million Dollar Baby).

"Back home everyone said I didn't have any talent. They might be saying the same thing over here but it sounds better in French." (An American in Paris)

"Now you wouldn't believe me if I told you, but I could run like the wind blows. From that day on, if I was ever going somewhere, I was running! " (Forrest Gump)

"I taught some of the stupidest children God ever put on the face of this earth and all of them could read well enough to find a name on a tombstone. " (Driving Miss Daisy)

I like this one:

"It's a 1949 Buick Roadmaster. Straight 8. Fireball 8. Only 8,985 production models. Dad lets me drive slow on the driveway. But not on Monday, definitely not on Monday. " (Rain Man)

" There's only one proper way for a professional soldier to die: the last bullet of the last battle of the last war. " (Patton)

"That's the way it crumbles... cookie-wise." (The Apartment)

"You throw money around like it was money." (All the King's Men)

" I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this. " (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest)

"An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind. " (Gandhi)

ENJOY! Smile

Here is one from a favorite TV show. Re-watching some episodes today.

“The girl just had her shootin’ cherry popped. Give her the keys. “ (Heylia telling Conrad to give Nancy her car keys on Weeds)
