Please anything odd you see or hear in this thread.

Today I saw a blue elephant! He/she was in one of those costumes people wear while waving a sign. I have no idea what she/he was advertising for though.

Today I looked in the mirror. Well, you said to list anything "odd." hahaha! 😉

Maybe it's a she? Or a corporation. I've seen your pics and you certainly don't look odd. 🙂

I saw what looked like a man walking across the water using a cane. A he got closer I could see that It was really a cane, but a walking stick.

Yesterday, we saw some money on the ground. Picked it up and counted out $400.00! There was no one around or any id. The funny part is that we were just coming out from getting a loan at a bank.

Thanks Hope. We also (as you already know) used the paperclip that was holding the money to pull a fishing pole out of the water. lol

Was it an elephant statue? Did you get to take a photo of it? I know you like elephants, LM. 🙂

I saw a VERY cute baby the other day. He was only three months old. His big sisters were so proud of little "Amelio." He had jet black hair and a TON of it. He was just beautiful. I know I am supposed to say handsome, but babies are beautiful, lol. He had the teenyist tiniest little fingers and fingernails. I love looking at a baby's tiny fingers, lol.

I love babies. They haven't learned to hate. The elephant was a statue. It was late at night. I didn't have my camera. We were on our way to the casino, and didn't want to turn around.

A few days ago we were looking for houses to rent. We went to one house and right away we noticed a man showering. He had one of those glass block window type of deals. The problem is that the windows showed way too much. I'm not sure if the man knew he was putting on a show for everyone or didn't have a clue. Needless to say, we did not rent that house.

Tonight we saw a lot of smoke as we got closer to our home. We drove closer and saw the firetrucks on site. I was so upset that someone's house may have been on fire. As we got closer, we could see that it was a grass fire. I bet that someone shooting off firecrackers set it on fire. We could hear lots of fireworks going off right behind the area that was on fire.

That is crazy you received a "peep show." lol

I am sure there are tons of fires out of control across the country with all this heat. People have to be SO careful with smoking, fireworks, camp fires, etc., because when it is so dry it can get out of control so quickly. Glad it was not a house that was burning!

I went out into the back yard and the grass here is like straw. I'm canceling lawn service anyway, but even if I wasn't, there is nothing to mow.

I liked the house at the peep show, but I guess we are now where we are supposed to be.

Last night there was a truck with like a pop up camper on it, but not exactly, and connected to that was the longest trailer I have ever seen. It seemed like it was longer than those double postal delivery trucks. First one I've seen in all of my years. I just wonder what the longest trailer is.

I saw this the other day, but it was still something to write about. I heard the loudest noise and couldn't figure out what it was. After I figured out what is was, I got a few minutes later to look. I counted 585 motorcycles that passed by my house. There must have been several hundred that I didn't count.

I was eating in a restaurant last week or the week before. Outside there was a patio to eat on, but it was too hot to go out there. While we were waiting for our food to arrive, I noticed two grandmother aged women pushing a baby stroller onto the patio. They put the baby on the table.....remember this is a restaurant......and they changed the baby's diaper! I could not believe it. They put the baby back in the stroller and left.

Have they not heard of bathrooms? Geezzzzzzzzz

That is really wild about the motorcycles, and you don't even live near Sturgis. lol Plus, it is the wrong time of year. I already told you I saw a huge group of motorcyclists on my way to visit my mom, but not THAT many.

As far as changing the baby on a restaurant table, I think I would have said something. That is ridiculous. Most bathrooms even have changing tables in them these days. How unsanitary and RUDE to the other customers who are trying to DINE. 🤢 Some people have NO brains or common courtesy OR common sense, I guess! 😠

I think I may have already told you this, but it was amazing (and just in case anyone else ever reads these, lol).

My son and I were coming home and in our parking lot there was a mom, her little boy, and their little dog that looked kind of like a Shitzu. The dog was NOSE TO NOSE with a squirrel! The mom was either taking photos or recording on her cell phone. I had to ask my son if he saw what I saw. Otis would have NEVER done that. I am sure he would bark and scare the squirrel away or try to eat it up. lol 🧛

I thought about saying something but restrained myself. I think the people who worked at the restaurant should have said something to them. It's possible that they did not see the women. Someone was sitting at that table just ten minutes before. I guess we all need to take Lysol wipes with us when we eat out. You never know who or what has been at the table before you.

This happened a few weeks ago, but I couldn't find this thread. I was getting in my car, looked around before I left, and saw a goose sitting in the front seat of the car. The lady who drove the car noticed me looking at her goose and waved. I got out to ask her about it, and she said she rescues them. The goose had on a diaper which is a good thing, because I can't imagine a goose pooping all over my car. I did get to pet it. It was so soft. I kept thinking it would bite me, but it didn't.

I was sitting in the kitchen eating my breakfast and looking out the back to our garden yesterday. Suddenly a pigeon falls from the sky (presumably the big tree in my neighbour's yard) and lands thwack on our patio. The poor thing was struggling but didn't look like it had been attacked or anything and I thought it might just have been stunned for a bit. So I picked it up and moved it up into the garden and put it under a bush in the hope it wouldn't get spotted by the neighbour's cat. I went back last night to look for it and it wasn't where I put it, but I found it a few metres away. The poor thing must have crawled through the garden for a bit then got to the point where it couldn't go anymore and died. So I had to dig a hole and bury it then tell the kids that it wasn't there and must have gotten up and flown away during the day.

Then this morning we saw 4 cockatoos like this one sitting on the back fence and stealing fruit from one of our neighbour's trees in the garden.

I hate to hear about the drop-dead-pigeon, but glad you tried to help it out. That is so kewl that you saw 4 cockatoos! One would have been wonderful, but four. Are those common for you to see in your country?

They aren't rare but it is the first time I have ever seen any near my house. It was extra strange to see so many at once.

They are so pretty! We only see them in cages here. 😢 I hate seeing birds in cages: just not natural at all. 😢
Did you try to get a photo? That is so awesome!

So sad about the pigeon, but you did what you could do. I once rescued one I found and brought it to the "bird people," but I don't think mine made it either. At least the kids heard a happy ending. 🙂
