Things other people do.

22 replies • Last post

Sometimes the things other people do bring us down. This thread is about things people do that bring us up! List something nice you have done for someone or something someone has done for you. Let's see if we can get this over 500 by 2013. Please number your response so it will make it easier to keep track of it.

1. I was sitting in the grocery store parking lot waiting on someone. A guy pulled in with his lights blaring straight at me and immediately turned them off before he was fully pulled in his spot. When he came out, he started his car and pulled away from me and then turned on his lights. I thought it was a nice thing for him to do. There are still some good people left in the world. Smile

2. My daughter drew this for me after I broke my arm. It cheered me right up!

Awwww.....that made my day, CL-Ed! I miss those cute little drawings my boys would make for me. I saved so many, lol! Too cute. You have quite the budding artist there!

I still have a card that I made for my grandpa when he was in the hospital. On the outside is "the big bad nurse" holding a syringe with a very long needle. It says, "Here some "the big bad nurse," and on the inside: "but don't worry you will be home soon!" lol!

That drawing is so precious. Save it for her graduation or wedding day. Wink

She even has where it is broken. Smile Looks like a happy face and a sad face. Is that a nurse with the hat on or your wife?

3. I ordered boxes on Ebay and for six days have been trying to pay the guy. I finally got them cancelled and ordered new boxes last night. The company said I would have them today. I didn't believe them. When I got up today and the boxes were not here, it's what I expected. However, tonight, about 24 hours after I ordered them, I found them on my front porch! What great service is that! I forget the company's name but I will have to list it here later.

1. My friend mailed me a surprise (healthy) treat that she ordered from a company that promotes good health, because she knows I am trying to get off all the sugar! How sweet! Wink That was such a nice surprise.

Yes its supposed to be her, me, and the nurse. She must have seen a nurse wearing one of those hats with a red cross on the tv or something. We were quite impressed with that!

Adorable My daughter used to draw pictures and we didn't know what a lot of stuff was. She would often draw pictures that looked like tears on the face. I asked her to tell me about her picture and what those "tears" were and she told me they were cheeks.....lol. Then I understood.

2. My son went shopping for me today - twice! I have trouble going out a lot, and I don't even WANT to go out a lot in this cold weather, so he picked up everything on my list.

3. My youngest son is taking Otis for a nice, long walk right now. I hinted at it (and I would really like to get out, again, later, because it is a gorgeous day for January in Minnesota - high 30s!!! He took him out to go potty, and they have been gone a very long time, so maybe Otis is getting a nice, long walk. With our cold weather, he is often not able to get a walk in the winter, because his little paws literally freeze to the ground, and he stands there holding a paw up, and if he tries to walk, he actually limps. Sad So, due to Otis' ongoing weight issues, we try hard to get him out for a walk whenever we can, in the winter. Spring, summer, and fall, I walk him without fail, no matter how tired or bad I feel, because his walks are the highlight of his day. Oh, all the sights and smells! lol!

Yes, he forgot some things, and I felt bad, but he went again without (too much) complaint, lol!

Wehave a friend, who is a mechanic, that offered to come over and do the brakes and rotors on my car! He usually doesn't want to take any money, but we insist. Still, it's a lot cheaper than going to a regular car repair place that charges a fortune!

That is great! Poor little Otis and his feet. My dog does the same thing. He can't be out long now due to that. We've thought about getting him the booties but I'm not sure if he would tolerate them. He does have a coat but we haven't used it much this year. If it's really, really cold out, we put it on him and he likes it I think.

Same here. I really do not think I could get Otis to wear the booties. Maybe if I had started when he was young. I used to, occasionally, have him wear his winter sweater, lol, and he looks so darn cute, but he just doesn't like it. I really wish I had gotten Otis used to clothes when he was younger, too. He has never liked them, although he has sweaters, t-shirts, a rain coat, and a pumpkin and bun costume. He also has Easter Ears and a Santa hat and Christmas t-shirt. He WILL tolerate harness vests, but his only one is too small Sad and bandanas. He also has a Christmas collar, but he wears harnesses, so it is just for dressing up and being festive, lol.

I bet Max looks cute with his winter coat. Smile

I think so but I think that even if he isn't wearing a coat. He hasn't used it too much this year because the weather has been better.

The box company that got boxes to me is Uline, in case anyone wants boxes fast!

I used to do that too. But I got tired of boxes of all different sizes, different weights, boxes crushing, It's so hard to find boxes too. This way they are all stacked nicely, I know how much weight I can put in each one and I can resell them afterwards if I want.

I am sure they are of a higher quality and better for being organized. I have never purchased boxes. Are they expensive? (I know you got a deal on Ebay, but normally?)

I bought before on Ebay and they were about $1 per box including shipping These are about $1.50 per box with shipping. Other companies that I checked are about $3 a box for the same size.

That sounds like a great deal! It would definitely be nice to have decent boxes. I need more bins, too! I like storing items in bins and get rid of some of my old, icky boxes, lol! Smile

I used to store most things in storage bins but I lost those along the way. Long story. I like those the best because they keep dirt out and if they get wet for some reason, the items inside are still safe. With boxes they can deteriorate if stored.
