What dreams have you had lately?

125 replies • Last post

I think this might be fun to share some dreams we have had. Who knows maybe someone in here is intuitive and can tell us about the future.

I certainly hope my dream this morning is not going to come true. My boyfriend and I were apparently homeless and just driving around in our car. We have a lab but he was not with us. That makes me really upset now. 😢 It was near a holiday in the summer. I'm thinking it must have been the 4th of July. We kept driving around stopping to watch animals. There was an animal drinking from a stream. I don't remember what kind of animal now.

Eventually I was cooking some chicken and noodles or chicken and rice in this young guy's house. His mom was not there but his grouchy grandpa would be home soon. It was such a bad feeling knowing I only had a temporary place to be.

Yesterday my dream was thatI was at a casino. The casino is not one I'm familiar with. I know it had a long hall. lmbo

Any insight?

Hmmm.....well, I used to have one of those dream interpretation books, but I could never make sense of my dreams, even with that book, so I think that some dreams ARE our subconscious and some are intuitive and some (most?) are just plain silly nonsense, lol.

Maybe you are not in a place where you truly feel at home right now? The casino one means that, although it will be a long "haul," (pun intended, lol) you will be winning a giant jackpot SOON! (I am feeling really silly today, lol).

Hope, You usually give me a chuckle and you did with this answer. I hope to be moving back to my hometown this year so I hope your long haul theory is right. I would love to win a jackpot, any jackpot. I'm thinking about entering one of the slots tournaments. I have never done that before.

Unfortunately for me, I never remember my dreams anymore. I should say RARELY. And I miss remembering my dreams! I know I dream (and talk in my sleep), but I just cannot retrieve the dream the next day, except once in a great while. My middle son was keeping a dream journal for a long time (hand-written journal and then online) and I LOVED reading the dreams, because some were just plain bizarre!

I most often remember my dreams if I have a nightmare and/or if I am napping (must be the right kind of light sleep that I wake up and remember) but I RARELY nap, so there ya go.

I talk constantly, according to others. The last thing I said (yelled) in my sleep was, "Dizzy Gillespie come blow your horn!" I have no idea! 😢 My sons laughed their "butts" off, of course.

The last dream I remember is I was sitting in the living room of a home, and it was not my home, but I lived there. The blinds kept moving and I knew it was a ghost that was trying to tell me something. I talked to it, and then I felt like I astral projected and did like a somersault from where I was sitting to the ceiling and back down again (I have this often, and yes, I know it sounds very strange. I also often had "awake dreams," through the years, where I was positive I was awake but that is another story).

I then asked the "ghost" another question, and it led me down these wooden stairs. The hall was all cement, floor to ceiling, even walls. I walked back and back down the hall and I heard really loud noises and saw a little bathroom. As soon as I reached the bathroom, smoke started filling the hallway, rising from the floor. I thought it was coming from the basement, but I soon realized it was coming from the stairs, and it was going to block my only exit. The entire time the loud noise was continuing.

I ran back down the hall, up the stairs, and there, on the top stair, sat Olivia, my youngest son's cat. I screamed as loud as I could and nothing would come out (I hate when that happens in a dream or when you try to run and you are frozen). Finally, I took a deep, deep breath, and I screamed, "There is a fire and Olivia's on the stairs!" or something like that. Turns out I actually screamed that so loud in my dream that I screamed it in my sleep, and my son heard me and laughed at me, once again.

I know it sounds very strange, but most dreams do, lol.

Sorry such a long post.

Well, good luck in the tournament! I have joined different types. The ones at my (now closed down) Slots Galore would run the entire 12 to 24 hours, sometimes the entire week end and I could sign in and out and play as long as I wanted during the time period. I could also use the auto play feature if I chose to do so.

The ones at Slot O Cash are different. You have only twenty minutes to play, and you can play for that 20 minutes any time during the time frame. Everyone has the same amount of time and the same amount of money. You cannot use auto play during their tournaments.

Glad I could give you a chuckle. To be fair, I did have the advantage of knowing you want to move, lol! I do believe you will win the giant jackpot and share with your dear friend Hope. hahaha! Right? LuckyMe? 😉

OMG! This has me laughing out loud for sure. You must have some really involved dreams. I have just started remembering my dreams again. I have talked out loud in dreams too. That sounds like a scary dream. I have enjoyed reading about your dream.

The funniest thing I ever said, LuckyMe, is when I was a newly wed. We just moved into a townhome, and we had no bedroom furniture yet (it was to be delivered the next day) so my ex and I were sleeping on the living room floor on sleeping bags. He said that I sat up on my elbow, looked down at him, and I blew short, quiet puffs of air in his direction, two times (kind of difficult to explain, lol) and said, "I will blow your house down." 🤷 Now where would something like THAT come from (except from The Three Little Pigs of course, lol, but why in my dream?). I did not remember dreaming anything or saying anything either, of course.

The champion for sleep-talking was my Uncle Bob. He liked going to the bars and this man talked so loud and so FAST that I always had trouble understanding him. He would come home (often two sheets to the wind), fall asleep, and carry on FULL conversations as if he was still at the bar with his buddies. Cracked us up, as young nieces and nephews whenever we visiting him and my Aunt in Wisconsin. I couldn't believe how much he talked in his sleep!

This is too funny. I know I have talked in my sleep but nothing that I remember anyone telling me about. My son who was about 10 at the time, came downstairs (still asleep) and tried to unlock the door and go outside one time. I don't remember him saying anything. What if I had not been there! Oh my.

My dad, who was a medic in the Korean War , used to have "war dreams". He would yell and it was pretty bad. It was always someone getting blown up or killed or something like that. I just remember the urgency in his voice.

I know my dog dreams too. He runs so fast in his sleep, which I enjoy because when he is awake he is blind. In his sleep, he can see very well. 🙂 I wish I could communicate with him and ask what he is dreaming about. A few times he has growled so I usually wake him up when I think he is having bad dreams. He will be 11 or 12 this year. He still used to "nurse" in his dreams, up until a year or two. There are times he runs so fast that he shakes the bed so hard that I have to wake him up.

I rarely remember my dreams when I wake up. Sometimes they are right there if I am woken unexpectedly but then a minute later they are gone. When I was a kid I used to remember them. I still remember some from my childhood - there was one I had a lot where I dived off a diving board into an indoor swimming pool at this squash court centre where my dad used to play. But in the pool was big white whale who swallowed me and I ended up sitting in his stomach. I think it was a bizarre combo sparked by going to the place where the pool was and having Pinocchio read to me.

I have two young kids and I would love to know what they dream about, especially when they were really young and only a few months old. My little boy is only 18 months and he has dreams where we see him smiling and stuff which is really cute. If only we could see what they see then!

That sounds like Moby Dick. That would be great video to get of your son. Precious. Before long he will be talking in sentences and maybe you can ask him then. That would be cool. At least get a photo. Kids grow up before you know it. I remember my mom telling me this when I was a young mom. Now I am a grandma. The time passed by fast.

Oh my goodness, I forgot how Otis used to "nurse" in his sleep, that was so cute. And you are right. They just stop doing that all of a sudden. Otis dreams, too, and I wake him when he starts to whimper. I think he is chasing squirrels, gophers, and bunnies in his dreams, lol. My ex boyfriends Alaskan Malamute, Chinook, used to do that with his legs, like he was running and running in his dreams.

I didn't know, or I forgot that your dog is blind?

CL-Ed, I used to love hearing my boys' dreams when they were little, too. That is so cute that your little one smiles in his sleep. I agree that it would be nice to see what they are dreaming. 🙂

That is a wild dream about the whale! What an imagination, and the pool and Pinocchio makes sense, lol.

I LOVED my childhood dreams, because I used to have a lot of flying dreams. I would fly up on the rooftops, above the trees, and so on. I used to have a lot of "being chased," dreams, too, but those were not fun. Sometimes, I have awake dreams where I am paralyzed to move (have these still) and those are frightening.

I used to also dream that my teeth would crumble and fall out of my mouth. I heard from some dream book that is an indication of feeling like we are losing control in real life. I also attributed it to the fact that I have terrible teeth. lol!

Dreams are interesting and this is a fun thread. I hope more will share. 🙂

He is blind due to diabetes. I think he can see just a little tiny bit because sometimes he seems to know where my face is even though he's not looking straight at me. When I speak then he will look directly at my face.

My sweet Molly use to wag her tail in her sleep. I thought that when she wagged her tail it was someone coming to get her 😢 before she died. She was the friendliest dog. I still miss her as you can tell. She was a runner too. I imagine them running with some new dog they just met or a pack of dogs....out on the town. They have to be chasing squirrels. When they growl I am imagining them meeting someone they don't like.

That is so sweet. I know you miss your sweet Molly, and I am sure Max misses her, too. I knew he had diabetes (you are such an incredible caretaker for your animals!), but I don't think I knew he was blind or visually impaired. It sure sounds as if he gets around well, though!

He gets around fine. He could see when we moved here so I think that makes the difference. The vet said it was rare to have two dogs with diabetes so I think it must be their food. I have to change that. He is more like a person to us than a pet. 🙂 I know you feel the same about Otis. He gives so much in return too. I will miss him when he is gone. I have got to do some videos of him. I have very few of Molly and would love to see her once again. I know Max doesn't have a lot of time left. Labs usually live to be about 13 or so is what the vet has said.

That happens to me all the time, and it drives me crazy! I will get "flashes" of the dream, all day, throughout the day, but it never comes back to me. I dreamed last night, and I remembered it when I woke up for a minute. I went through the dream in order, in my mind, trying so hard to remember it and thinking I would remember it when I woke up. I know they say to get up and write it down, but I sleep like a rock, and I am always too tired, and I trick myself into believing I will remember the dream when I wake up. Now, that is happening right now, where I am remembering some of the dream, but not enough to remember anything specific! grrrrrrr! 😢

That happens to me too. I always think I will remember the dream because it is so good or so important but rarely do I remember the dream when I wake up. I once had a dream where I was told something very important! It was so important that I was sure I would remember it when I woke up. When I woke up all I could remember was that I was told something very important. 😢 I could have kicked myself because there was something very valuable in that dream. There have been a few times now when I wake up during the night that I do write down my dreams.

No dreams last night though.

24 hours would not be long enough to see Paris. Have you been there often?

My dream today is weird. Some man that I do not know was throwing a parade for me. There were marching bands, baton twirlers and everything you would normally see at a parade. This man had thrown parades for other people too in the past. I was so touched that he would do something like that just for me.

I watched the parade for awhile and when it was over, I decided to walk back home. As I start that way I notice smoke in the distant sky. I walked past a truck and my younger brother jumps out. He did not look like any of my real life brothers. He was about 10-12 in the dream. He was quite upset and asked if I knew what was going on. I told him no. He said there was some type of war going on. He said he was going back to Wall Street. My brother has never worked or had anything to do with Wall Street.

I jumped into the truck with my mom, who was much younger in the dream. We headed towards home but all of these packages were being catapulted towards us. It was like someone launched 100 boxes of different sizes at us. I saw one that just hit and was on the side of the road standing up. It had a casino sign (lmbo) on the box. The sign was Casino Listings! Too funny. I can remember saying that I would like to open that package. We had no time to stop though. The packages were starting to hit the truck. Just then someone woke me up. Grrr

The other dream was that I was sitting on a ridge above a pond. There was someone to my left and someone to my right. I kept watching the water in the pond. All of a sudden there were all kinds of snakes swimming in the water. You could only see their heads. There was a part of the dream I'm not sure about. There was a green, metallic object that was coming out of the water. I don't remember what it was now. We decided to leave.

My last dream was horrible : I suddenly got to know that I was adopted, and my biological mom wanted to know me, inviting my whole family for dinner. We all went there, and a woman who looked just like me game running and hugged me, crying.... But than something strange happened, I had a feeling that her tears were fake, while everyone believed she cried from her heart... And then even stranger thing happened.... the alarm rang!!!!!!! 😢

Oh, how I hate when THAT happens (the alarm ringing, lol). You are too funny, GM! 😀 That DOES sound like a frightening dream, especially meeting a "mom" who looks just like yourself and who you never knew, plus knowing she was "fake" when everyone else was convinced she was "real."

i almost every morning remember my dreams 😂 last two nights i was with my friends at my place having really really good time, on my own car hope it comes true 🙂 i'll try to make it come true )))

I envy those who remember their dreams, because I always used to, then suddenly remembering them just stopped. I would love to remember more of them. I have heard you can train yourself to do so, and also to wake yourself from dreams (esp bad ones when you want to wake up) to write them down. I haven't tried any of that yet, but if I miss my dreams enough I may have to try it.

May all your dreams come true NJ! 8)

Grrr

I agree that this is a fun thread. One good thing about it is if I can't remember my own dreams, I can read about others, lol. I find them entertaining! 🍷

That dream is so great and soooooo funny, LM! I loved having such detailed dreams. I also find it interesting how dreams seem to go on for such a long time, and we can sometimes tell such a long story from one dream, when in reality, it was probably short (not sure I am explaining this right, I am so darn tired and ready for bed, lol).

Anyway, how special to have someone throw a parade just for you! And that is hilarious that the Casino Listings sign was on one of the packages. You are seeing CL in your dreams now, lmbo!

I think a dream analyzer would have fun trying to interpret THAT dream. The part about Wall Street is funny/crazy, too.

I felt such gratitude to the man for doing this parade for me. I have no idea why he did it. Yes, I am dreaming about casinos now in my dreams. Maybe I've been playing too many games? I'm thinking the Wall Street thing is I watched a Wall Street protest video recently.

I know that one day you will remember your dreams Hope and you will write them here and they will be funny!
