Review of Yabby Casino

As a typically clueless American, it took a bit of Googling until I found out that a yabby is in fact a type of crayfish that is native to Australia. And that explains the cute little blue mascot wearing a croupier's suit and bow tie on the Yabby Casino website. Speaking of which, what we have here is yet another Realtime Gaming (RTG) casino which doesn't exactly get me excited these days. I was pleased though to see that this one is run by a well known and respected operator.

Software and game selection

The Yabby Casino site has an interesting look to it, as it is going for a literally underwater casino theme. On the casino's splash page you'll find stylized a Las Vegas casino meant to look like its located by a reef, complete with fish friends. This theme only lends itself to the splash page and a few select other spots. It's not a big deal, but it does show that the design is more cookie-cutter than cutting edge. Comparing between desktop and mobile browsers, things looked a lot sharper on the mobile version of the site, which is where I spent most of my time for this review.

I was able to register an account in about a minute and was able to get playing shortly thereafter. Yabby Casino uses the aforementioned RTG for its game library and platform system. If you've played games at one of the multitude of other RTG casinos you'll know exactly what to expect. For the uninitiated, the company has a library of more than 100 slot machines, along with assorted table games, video poker, and keno that it has built up over the past two decades. Many of the games are starting to show their age, but in recent years RTG has done a good job of releasing some more modern looking games.

Regarding the slots, there are a bunch of progressive jackpots that can be won. Many of these prizes are in the small three and four-figure range, but there are also large six-and-seven-figure jackpots like Spirit of the Inca and Megasaur available. Most of the slots can also be played on your phone or tablet.

Table games and video poker are well represented. You'll find blackjack tables, craps, roulette, and multiple variations of these games on the casino's roster. Things are further enhanced by the addition of the live dealer section. Here you'll find five blackjack games, four roulette games, and two baccarat tables. The site did mention Super 6, but no tables were available when I was reviewing the site. The live dealer section did function well, and while the quality isn't as good as something you'd see from Evolution, the lower bet amounts for games (starting at $10 for blackjack) are a worthy trade-off.

Banking and customer support options

The casino's banking options are crypto-heavy, and for those of you who have had to deal with bank transfer delays and shenanigans at other RTG casinos, I view this as a good thing. The site allows for deposits using various cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Litecoin, Cardano, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and more. If you're not a crypto bro, you can still deposit using a credit or debit card, though you will need to get up to speed with Bitcoin to withdraw.

Cashouts are available via Bitcoin and Litecoin, and there is a low minimum balance of only $20 required to withdraw. Personal experience has shown me that this operator pays via Bitcoin within a couple of hours, and sometimes even minutes if you are lucky. At the outset, your withdrawal limits are $4000 per day and $8000 per week, although these limits can be higher depending on your VIP status. The casino states that progressive jackpot wins are not subject to these limitations, which is as it should be.

Customer support is available through live chat and email and is available around the clock, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I used the live chat to inquire about the terms related to a bonus being offered. I was met with a humorous and friendly message and told to wait for assistance. In a few seconds, I was connected to Alan, who helped give me the information I needed. I'd rate the team here above average.

Fairness and responsible gaming

Yabby Casino claims to have a Curacao gaming license, but I couldn't find a seal on the site or any other proof of this. It's a bit of a moot point though, as acquiring a Curacao license is as simple as paying a small fee to one of the country's master gaming licensors and putting it up on your site, no questions asked. As we have pointed out on here many times, a Curacao license is worthless from a player's point of view because there are no official player support channels or even any kind of regulation being carried out there.

What we do have in the this casino's case is the example set by the other casinos run by the same operator over a number of years, namely Casino Extreme and Casino Brango. I can report that their conduct has been very good, that we have received minimal complaints via our forums, and that they are renowned for quick and fuss-free payouts.

There also isn't a responsible gaming page on the casino's website. I did see some blurbs of about deposit limits on the casino's "Fair Play" page, but nothing that was easy and obvious to locate. In terms of controls, the casino does allow for deposit limits, but you have to reach out to customer support to get this enabled and you cannot do it yourself via your account settings. This is an area in which Yabby could do a better job looking out for players, but is sadly par for the course for unregulated internet casinos.

As I said at the start, this is yet another RTG casino, and to be frank my initial one word reaction would best be described as "meh". That said, the operator of this casino has built up a lot of goodwill over the past few years through the operation of its other casinos. While it is not a top tier casino by any stretch of the imagination, it is leaps and bounds ahead of most other RTG operations which, as experienced players well know, unfortunately consist of a large proportion of rogues. If RTG games are your thing, Yabby Casino is well worth checking out.
