Tivoli Casino is an online casino established in 2014 that runs on a multi-software platform offering games from a variety of suppliers. It is operated by TivoliCasino.com Ltd and is registered under the jurisdiction of Denmark. Last updated: November 6, 2018.
Tivoli Gardens is one of Denmark's premier tourist attractions, an amusement park located in Copenhagen that was opened in 1843 that now attracts more than 4 million visitors each year. In addition to its famous wooden roller-coaster, landscaped gardens, themed buildings, and various other rides and amusements, Tivoli Gardens also sports a couple of amusement arcades with slot machines and other games of chance. It is perhaps unsurprising then to learn that Tivoli also now boasts its own online casino.
Tivoli Casino is a so-called instant play casino, with all games playable in your browser window without requiring the installation of any extra software. The games are provided by respected gaming developers Net Entertainment, Microgaming, NextGen, and Play'n Go. The site is heavily slanted towards slot machines, with around 250 slots available for play at the time of this review. Some of the better known and most popular games available include Robin Hood Shifting Riches, Jurassic Park, Starburst, Immortal Romance, The Dark Knight Rises and South Park. The selection is good and the games loaded reasonably quickly for me and operated without any stutters or lag.
The website uses the typical grid design where you may view game logos in a grid of four columns. The games are divided into multiple sections such as Slots, Roulette, Blackjack, and Others, and then each section split into pages. Thankfully the casino has provided a search box where you can begin typing the name of a game that you want to find and it instantly shows you a list of matching games to choose from. This works across sections so you can still find blackjack games even if you are on the slots page for example.
While all sounding good so far, this casino is not without its negatives. Firstly the table game selection is fairly thin on the ground. There are several variations of European Roulette and Blackjack, a Baccarat game and Casino Hold'em and that is it. There are also some video poker machines including All American, Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild, Joker Wild, Joker Poker, and Aces and Faces. Finally another disappointment is the lack of progressive jackpot games at this casino. While Microgaming's Quickfire platform and Net Entertainment usually offer players loads of different jackpot games, the only ones available here are Arabian Nights, Mega Fortune and a single progressive video poker game from Play'n Go.
Tivoli offers either live chat or email based support, though at hours that are only really friendly to European punters. The operating hours for customer support are limited to 8am to 10pm CET, 7 days a week. However there is no phone number displayed so if you want to speak to someone over the phone you will need to bring up the live chat and ask them to call you. I think that this is another area in which this casino could be improved.
Deposits into your account can be performed instantly using a variety of methods including major credit cards and e-wallets, vouchers, and localised banking methods. When it comes time to withdraw you can expect to have your identity verified. I was asked to submit documents and it took a little under 24 hours to be verified. Once this was out of the way, my withdrawal to Skrill came through within another day. The withdrawal limit on standard wins is €25,000 per day, which is more or less irrelevant compared to other casinos I have seen that restrict you to less than a quarter of that per month. So overall, Tivoli is pretty good in the withdrawal department, though do take note that they do not process withdrawals over the weekend.
Tivloi Casino is licensed in Denmark and is only accessible via an encrypted SSL connection, which means that all of your personal information, gameplay, and financial transactions are protected. The games from Net Entertainment and Play'n Go reveal their RTP values in the game help files, but the Microgaming Quickfire games do not. However as the Microgaming games are not operator configurable, you can expect the returns to be identical to any other Microgaming casino. Aside from this, the casino does not publish any RTP numbers on its site, nor does it publish any monthly payout audits.
I expected such an internationally renowned brand to produce an excellent online casino and following several recent improvements to both the website functionality and the addition of live chat support, it now more or less delivers on that expectation. Tivoli has a good collection of slot machines, the withdrawal speed is good, and trust in the brand is high. The support department could be improved and I would like to see more progressive and table games, but apart from that, this is a very good casino.
