Review of Polder Casino
Polder Casino is named after the dyked reclaimed parcels of low lying land used for agriculture, most famously found in The Netherlands. It is one of a series of online casinos that are operated by L&L Europe Ltd, and it holds licenses in the jurisdictions of Malta and the United Kingdom. I have recently taken a heavy look at L&L Europe's other casino sites and was expecting Polder Casino to be a solid casino site. Does it hold up?
Software and game selection
Polder Casino uses a gaming platform that supports games from Net Entertainment, Amatic Industries, and Yggdrasil Gaming. The casino's game library isn't as large as some of the other sites out there, but I was happy to see that the game quality and selection was very good. The casino is presented through a web based interface, meaning that you don't have to download and install any extra software to play the games. You simply register, deposit, and play directly through your web browser. If you are a punter who likes to play via your smartphone or tablet, there is also a mobile site to play at with a reduced subset of games.
As I mentioned above, the game selection is very nice at Polder Casino. Games can be found in a series of categories including Slots, Table Games, Video Poker, Lottery, and Other. Within these categories you will find thumbnails of games, which you simply click on to play. In the event you are searching for a particular game, you can use the instantly updating search box to find your game. Overall it is a well designed and straight forward casino site.
Slots are the largest selection of games available to play, with all of the major slots from Net Entertainment, Yggdrasil, and Amatic available to play. Of these, Net Ent definitely has the most diverse and entertaining range of games to play, with popular titles such as Jack Hammer, Dead or Alive, Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Wish Master all available for play. The Amatic games look markedly dated in comparison. A series of progressive jackpot games are available, with huge games like Mega Fortune, Hall of Gods, and Arabian Nights all on offer here.
The selection of table games is better than I expected, with all of the major games available as well as some variations that you wouldn't necessarily expect to see. I was also happy to find that Polder Casino has an excellent live casino, which broadcasts Roulette, Blackjack, and Punto Banco games from both a studio and a land casino in Malta.
Banking and customer support
Banking options are pretty decent at Polder Casino, with the casino offering up several ways to deposit in Euros. It only offers four different methods to withdraw money though. Players in The Netherlands can make transfers using iDeal, along with regular credit cards and e-wallet accounts. The casino does have a €5000 per day withdrawal limit, which is unlikely to affect all but the biggest winners. If you do have the good fortune to win one of the massive networked progressive jackpots, this payment limit will be waived. My withdrawals from casinos in this group have all been processed within 24 hours of having my identification verified, and Polder Casino was no exception.
Support is solid in terms of having staff that are prompt and courteous. They may be contacted via telephone or live text chat between the hours of 10am and 1am CET, which should suit most European people playing at this casino just fine. When staff was on the clock, I was able to ring up help via instant message, and never waited more than a minute for a rep to show up to help. The language support has improved with largely Dutch speaking support staff now available.
Security, fairness, and responsible gaming
It does not offer up any type of independent auditing or reports on the results of its games, but the theoretical payout percentages of most of the games on the site can be found by reading the game's help screen. Recent Net Entertainment games tend to consistently payout in the range between 96% and 97%, which is very good compared to games released by many other operators. Polder Casino does offer information and controls regarding responsible gaming. You are able to set deposit, wager, and loss limits, as well as session time limits, through your account settings.
Polder Casino is a very good online betting site, but there are a few things it could do better to propel it to being a great site. The layout of the site is neat and usable, and even though it is basically a re-skin of other L&L casinos, the design is good. I do wish there were more withdrawal options for punters, and it still seems odd to me to have a Dutch themed site that does not support the native language.
