Review of NewVegas Casino

NewVegas Casino is a betting site that was launched in 2020 that looks to provide betting services throughout the globe. The casino boasts a varied slots library, a live dealer selection, and cryptocurrency support. However there's a lot going on beneath the surface here that gives us serious pause in recommending NewVegas to our readers.

Software and game selection

To its credit, NewVegas Casino actually has an attractive website and the gaming platform is well-designed. You register, deposit, and play through this platform, which loads right through your internet browser, no additional software required. The navigation through the different genres of games is easy, so you shouldn't have a hard time finding what you want to play, although the lack of a search function is notable. Mobile support is also included, so you can play these games on your phone or tablet if that's what you'd like.

NewVegas features an assortment of games from suppliers including the likes of Betsoft, Tom Horn, Saucify, Rival Gaming, Dragon Gaming, Fugaso, and Arrow's Edge. This results in a decently varied slots library, but none of the suppliers are considered to be in the upper echelon of slots developers these days. You'll find a variety of different themes and features here, with some ranging from generic wilds to having big boys like expanding wilds and pick'em games available. There are a bunch of progressive jackpots to be won on the site, although I'd be very wary of the Betsoft jackpots for reasons detailed below.

A matter of significant concern is that we have identified serious issues with Betsoft, which supplies a large proportion of the games at this casino. Among a long list of issues, we have proven that Betsoft was at one time running games with jackpots that were impossible to win, and not forgetting the time they outright ripped off a punter who should have won a life changing progressive jackpot on one of their games. Our warning for players to avoid all Betsoft games still stands to this day. Although these issues are not the fault of the NewVegas, it is a significant drawback to playing at their casino because more than a quarter of the slots on offer are supplied by Betsoft.

Table games and video poker are available, but the number of games is disappointing. You will find just five table games, two of which are roulette. There is a Blackjack and Let It Ride option, with both of these games being about what you'd expect. The real highlight here though is live dealer games, which give you webcast versions of those popular table games. The live dealer provider is Rival Gaming.

Banking and customer support

NewVegas allows you to deposit via credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and e-wallets, along with supporting the use of Bitcoin for deposits and withdrawals. Theoretically, this is a great thing, as the casino should be able to pay you your winnings almost instantly. In reality though, you'll find that there are processing times that can take up to 72 hours, even on electronic payments such as e-wallets and Bitcoin.

The casino institutes withdrawal limits that, interestingly enough, depend on whether you claimed a bonus or not. If you're like the majority of players and like to play with a bonus, then your withdrawals are limited to just $4000 per week. On the other hand if don't claim bonuses, the casino raises this limit to $10,000 per week. Chalk up yet another reason not to claim a bonus, though neither limit is particularly generous.

Customer support can be reached through live chat and enquiry form. The casino does not publish any details that would allow you to contact them directly via phone, email, Skype, or anything else. I did reach a rep within 30 seconds on the live chat, and posed some questions related to the banking options. I got answers related to banking limits and the various options available to me. On another occasion I tried contacting chat and waited a while before a getting a response stating that the team was resting and that I could talk to a "virtual assistant" (i.e. chat bot) instead. So although they claim to offer 24/7 support, it is clear that they are not staffed 24 hours a day. As per usual with casino support they can handle the basics immediately, but anything complicated is going to take time as they go back and forth via management.

Security, fairness, and responsible gambling

NewVegas encrypts connections to the site, which is expected from all legitimate betting sites these days in order to protect your financial and personal information as it crosses the internet. As usual we remind you to only play at casinos that utilise encryption. You can usually find this by looking at your browser's address bar, where there will be a lock or some other icon indicating that the connection is secured.

This casino is operated by a company called Sky Inc. Entertainment, which seems to be registered in Costa Rica, a jurisdiction with an awful reputation for attracting rogue operators precisely because it does not license casinos. From what i can tell, it appears to be a completely unregulated casino. I say "appears" because I searched high and low on the website, and even asked support, and in the end did not get a definitive answer to the question either way. This is highly unusual for a casino with recognisable game suppliers, with most similar operations choosing to boast about their Curacao licenses for appearances sake. Obviously it would not make much of a difference if they did hold such a worthless license, but the fact that they aren't even claiming to hold one of those really stands out.

The casino does not disclose the theoretical return to player (RTP) rates for its games, nor does it publish an audit or accounting of its actual payouts. It provides no information about responsible gambling practices, and does not allow you to limit your activity on the site in any way without contacting support and asking them to do it for you. This is not even close to best practice.

Conclusion

NewVegas Casino is an interesting casino that seems to offer a decent selection of games, but there are a lot of reasons to be wary. The lack of transparency, lack of a gaming license, the use of rogue game supplier betsoft for a quarter of the games on offer, and the low withdrawal limits, among other issues, all urge caution. This is a relatively new casino with an unknown operator and a ton of question marks hanging over it. Only time will tell whether they end up being a reputable operator. At this point I can't recommend that you play at this casino until it has a longer track record of trouble free operation.
