Jack Gold Casino is an online casino established in 2013 with games supplied by Evolution Gaming, Microgaming, NextGen Gaming, and Realistic Games. It is operated by Locus Gaming Isle of Man Ltd and is registered under the jurisdiction of Isle of Man. Last Updated: May 24, 2021.
The first thing that struck me when I visited Jack Gold Casino was the rather simple, attractive, and straight to the point interface. It has a menu down the left and a tabbed list of game logos on the right and that was pretty much it. It was then that I realised that the site has been totally tailored to mobile devices, so it does not waste space on superfluous stuff like so many other casino websites. I decided to grab my iPad instead and take a look at Jack Gold from a tablet user's perspective.
September 2014: Jack Gold Casino's operators, Locus Gaming, have decided to close down the casino, a surprising decision given the fact that the casino was only open for less than 12 months.
The games at Jack Gold are supplied by a number of different game providers, including Microgaming, NextGen, and Realistic Gaming. Unlike most regular online casinos that have branched out into mobile games, you won't find say 500 games for your desktop computer and around 30 for your tablet. Instead every game on the site is playable on your mobile device, and I counted around 75 games in total, with 53 being 5-reel video slots.
Included in the collection of games are Microgaming blockbusters such as Avalon II, Thunderstruck I & II, Tomb Raider, The Dark Knight, Playboy, and Break Da Bank Again, along with NextGen favourites like Medusa, Irish Eyes 2, and Foxin' Wins. There are also a few games from Realistic Gaming, which specialises in games for mobile devices. One I quite enjoyed was Super Graphics Upside-Down - a slightly bizarre Japanese themed slot which turns the reels upside down during free spins and comes complete with an anime-inspired host girl who talks to you in what we assume is deliberately badly translated "Engrish". There are also three Microgaming progressive jackpot games available for play: Cash Splash, Major Millions, and the prolific Mega Moolah.
Apart from the slot machines, there are mobile friendly versions of blackjack and roulette, along with six variants of video poker, but more exciting for me was the availability of live dealer Baccarat, Blackjack, Casino Hold'em and Roulette. These games are broadcast from the Evolution Gaming studios and worked surprisingly well on an iPad.
Jack Gold has a very tablet-friendly interface. Each game is listed using its logo, and your choices are arranged in a 5 column grid. The icons are large enough to tap without making mistakes, however as logos for games tend to reveal little about the game, unless you are familiar with the game already you will have little idea what to expect until you actually load the whole game. Some kind of screenshot preview, ala our very own free game index here at Casino Listings, would definitely improve things.
It was great to see that Jack Gold is yet another casino that has adopted the "early withdrawal" policy with their bonuses. When you claim a bonus, you will receive the extra funds as a "bonus balance" while your original deposit remains in your "cash balance" and will always be wagered first, before any bonus funds. What this means is that if you have a big win, or even second thoughts about claiming a bonus, you can forfeit the bonus and withdraw from your cash balance at any time without being locked in by wagering requirements, as long as you have not yet touched your bonus funds. I really like this rule.
Customer support at Jack Gold can be contacted a number of ways. There is a live help tab or button displayed on the site that can be tapped at any time to initiate a live chat session. Unfortunately for those of you outside of Europe like me, the chat operators are not available 24 hours a day, instead operating between 8am and 10pm, London time. Alternate means of contact include email, phone, post, and you can even pester them on various social media accounts if you're into that sort of thing.
Getting money in and out of Jack Gold casino is quite simple, provided you own a credit card, as they only accept Visa or Mastercard credit or debit cards. We queried support and they stated that Neteller, Skrill, and UKash options should be coming soon, but they were unable to give us a specific timeframe. Deposits are instantly handled as you would expect while our test withdrawal took 3 days in total, including an initial identity verification process, which is pretty good.
Jack Gold is licensed and regulated in the Isle of Man. This is a serious gaming jurisdiction that places strict controls on its operators, including mandating that all player funds are ring-fenced from the casino's day to day operational funds. In theory this should ensure that any financial mismanagement of the casino does not impact on any player funds, which is always good to see. In addition the RTP figures for each game can be found either on the website or in the game help files or paytables.
Jack Gold is certainly one of the better mobile-oriented online casinos that I have tried. Every game at the casino is playable on your mobile device, and the site is attractive and easy to navigate. Having said that, it would be great to have some more gaming options when accessing the casino through your desktop computer and the casino could definitely use some more flexibility in the banking department.
