Review of Indio Casino
Indio Casino is a uniquely themed casino, and one of very few that are squarely aimed at people from India. It is owned by management responsible for African Palace and Grand Reef casinos, with the former in particular having a despicable reputation after an incident where the owners refused to pay out the full amount of a Beach Life progressive jackpot, which was won by South African woman Marie Van Wyk.
Blacklisted due to theft of jackpot winnings at sister casino
The short version of the story is that South African woman Marie Van Wyk won over $1 million at African Palace Casino, and after receiving two payments totalling roughly one quarter of her winnings the payments simply stopped. The owner of the casino rudely told her that she would not receive another cent and virtually dared her to try to contact the authorities. Evidence that we have uncovered suggests that despite the apparent sale of this casino to new owners in 2011, the same owner - Denver Chetty - is still involved with the casino, which is enough to earn Indio Casino a well deserved space on our blacklist.
In addition to this, we have received many complaints over the years about slow payment of winnings from the casinos owned by these people, with winners at times waiting months to be paid. Check the comments in our review of Grand Reef Casino for many such examples.
Steer clear of this one.
