Review of Dr Vegas Casino

Dr Vegas Casino is a UK-centric online casino featuring a host of games from some excellent game developers. The casino was previously known as Cyberslotz, then Quicksilver Casino in association with the Quicksilver arcade amusements group in the UK. However that association ended in 2013 and the new owners rebranded the site to the Dr Vegas name that we see today. I was really looking forward to playing at this casino, due to their large library of games and the attractive and fun looking website.

Software and game selection

Dr Vegas Casino has its games supplied by the likes of IGT, Play'n Go, NextGen, Leander Games, and Bally Technologies, among several others. It also has a collection of its very own games that have been developed in house that you cannot play anywhere else. All games at the casino are playable directly in your web browser, and there are a variety that are also playable via your mobile phone or device.
I was able to register at Dr Vegas within a few minutes, with the only hurdle to jump being the fact that I had to confirm my email address with the casino before I could deposit and play. The overall process was very simple, with the casino making things as easy as possible when it comes to getting set up to play.

The game selection at Dr Vegas is very impressive, with the virtual floors being lined with slots, Roulette, Blackjack, Craps, Poker, Sic Bo, and Baccarat available with a variety of betting limits. A few of the better slot machines that I played while checking the casino out included Supernova, Beowulf, Cupid and Psyche, Jewel of the Dragon, and Pharaoh's Dream. You may well recognise a few of those titles as land based casino games from Bally or IGT. Dr Vegas also offers Live Dealer versions of Blackjack, Roulette, and Baccarat that features webcasted dealers playing hands out with your input from a separate location.

One of the attractions of this casino are the exclusive in-house games that it offers. These games are a bit of a mixed bag to be honest. Some of them like Captain Chook and Bondi Bucks look extremely dated, with only the most basic graphics and sound effects that make you want to turn your speakers off. Others though like Rainbows Gold are modern and attractive games that are worth taking for a spin both to see something new and for the chance of some decent sized wins.

Favourable bonus policy

One great feature of Dr Vegas is the policy that allows you to play and withdraw with your cash funds before touching your bonus funds. So for example if you deposited £100 and were given a £100 bonus, you start with £200 and are free to withdraw at any time so long as your balance does not drop below £100 and you dip into the bonus funds. This partially eliminates the "lock-in" problem that bonuses usually create and means that you can withdraw early if you have a big win and don't want to go through the bonus wagering requirements.

Banking and Customer Support

Dr Vegas has a good banking system that allows several ways to deposit and withdraw funds from the casino. Deposit options include credit and debit cards, common e-wallets Neteller and Skrill, and PaysafeCard. You can withdraw back to all of these, or a cheque if your winnings are large or your debit or credit card does not allow withdrawals. Speaking of which, the payout speed at this casino is great, at least via the e-wallets. I submitted my first withdrawal and was asked to supply proof of identification, which was approved in under an hour. My withdrawal to a Skrill account was then paid a whole 15 minutes later. This is the way it should be at every casino!

Customer support is excellent as well, with staff available 24 hours a day via email, telephone, and instant message. I found the support reps to be friendly and efficient and, as I said above, capable of approving documents and withdrawals in a very short amount of time.

Security, game fairness, and responsible gambling

Registration, login, and gameplay at Dr Vegas is conducted using an encrypted SSL connection. This safeguards the privacy of your digital communication with the casino and ensures that your private details cannot be intercepted by third parties. In accordance with UKGC regulations, the casino discloses that it only meets the "basic" standards of segregation of customer funds from the operational funds of the casino. Unfortunately this means that player deposits could be used to pay off creditors in the event of insolvency.

A disturbing complaint that we received about this casino involved the case of a player from the Netherlands. He was allowed to sign up and play at Dr Vegas but when it came time to withdraw he was denied, with the casino saying that it did not accept players from his country. This was despite the fact that other countries are actively blocked from registering and playing. Our subsequent investigation revealed that there were 13 countries disallowed by the T&Cs that were still allowed to register, deposit, and play, with no possibility of ever withdrawing. While almost certainly a genuine mistake on the casino's part, it shows sloppy operation and questionable standards, and the refusal to pay the player despite being on the receiving end of the casino's own mistake lowers my trust of this casino significantly.

Some of the games offered by the casino have their theoretical RTP numbers published in either the game paytable or help files. Apart from this, Dr Vegas does not report any other RTP or audited payout figures.

There are responsible gambling controls built into the casino's software that allow you to set daily or weekly wagering or loss limits, or a play session time limit. If you exceed any of these limits that you set, you will be prevented from playing at the site until the time limit that you specified elapses.

Conclusion

Dr Vegas is a decent online casino that features a good bonus policy, and some great games. However its handling of a case involving a player from a restricted territory shows a casino unwilling to be held accountable for its own mistakes, which isn't a great look from a trust perspective.

Dr Vegas have refused to pay Enesuyar despite my attempts at mediating. They are correct that "Holland" is listed as a restricted territory on their T&Cs page. However people from the Netherlands are still able to register for the casino from inside their country, and they can freely pick the Netherlands as a country when entering their address on the registration form. There is nothing to stop them.

Compare that to my country, Australia. If I try to even click the register button on the website I see a message that I am blocked from playing at the site. If I use a VPN to change my location and get past that message, Australia is not even on the list of countries to pick from on the registration form. So the only way for me to register is to use a VPN and submit a false address, which is fraud, so I couldn't complain if they refused to pay me.

So clearly they have a disconnect between the T&Cs and the registration process, which actively tries to block people from restricted territories. As far as I can tell, there are 13 countries disallowed by the T&Cs that are still able to register and play. So if you're in one of these countries you can sign up and deposit, but you can't possibly win because they won't pay you if you try to withdraw:

Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, Georgia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Philippines, Portugal, Republic Of Moldova, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Tunisia

The obvious question that lingers is what happens if you are in one of those countries, you deposit and lose? Are they going to refund your money? As we don't know of anyone who has done this we can't say for sure.

While this is clearly an oversight this casino needs to get its processes in order as mistakes like this are unacceptable. I believe the casino should be the one paying for their mistakes, not genuine players.

I have referenced this case in the review above and adjusted our score for the casino accordingly.

Enesuyar, I see they have added a bunch of countries to their term "1 Prohibited Persons". The Netherlands is currently not on there, but Holland is. As you can see from my post above dated August 15, 2016 it wasn't restricted back then.

I suppose that if you don't actually live in the Holland part of The Netherlands you could argue that you're still not excluded.

I'll send you a private message, please get back to me there and we'll see if we can get a clarification from the casino as to what is going on and/or encourage them to pay you.

Yes its crazy. End of the day if u can withdraw the said 100 surely that makes the cash in question yours so then Should be playable to do what you want with. I've had no problems what so ever with other casinos and other only just before Xmas I won 100 of 20 Bonus as max win was four times bonus after I did relevant playthrough casino said I could do what I want with it as my winnings so then I turned said 100 into 1000 and withdrew without any issues .

I agree with what you are saying and have argued it with a few casinos without success after running into this situation numerous times over the past 5 years or so. Once you accept a free chip or free spins offer you'll ever be paid more than the maximum payout until you withdraw first. Its stupid but that is the way they work them. Even worse, there are casinos that do what you suggest and reduce the balance to the maximum when wagering is completed, but then they still won't let people withdraw any extra even if they play on (i.e. the player is allowed to play in a no-win situation). I once tried to get a guy paid several thousands that he won in that situation and no surprise, it didn't happen.

I won 3.58 on free spins then played thru what I got to and at that point I had about 120 in my account so let's say for arguments sake I could only win 100. My balance should then have been corrected to 100 and then I should have been free to use that 100 with no limits. So the other money I won after Id played thru should be mine and shouldn't have been taken off me . I really don't see how they could have justified taking it off me.

Hi Dean re where you said you played through wagering requirements, what was the bonus you claimed? Many casinos have a max win limit on free chip bonuses for example.

Avoid this casino at all costs . After I made numerous deposits with no luck finally I got a win for 350 and they then manually adjusted my winnings to 100 and said that's all I could win. This was after I had already played thru wager and then won money after the wager and still had it taken off me. I feel utterly robbed and I can't see how these thieves get away with it. From reviews I've read elsewhere they seem to be a nightmare when it comes to paying out. There all fine and dandy when ure depositing your HaRd earned cash.

Its a pain keeping all those region blocks up to date, especially when the casino doesn't do it themselves. This is what they say in their T&Cs:

Quote:

The following countries are specifically prevented from registering: Afghanistan, Albania, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sudan, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States of America.

So no Canada, but it does confirm that they don't accept players from NZ. Thanks for the tips guys, we have updated our database.

It doesn't appear to accept players from Canada. I had a "blocked country" box pop up when I tried to register.

That is strange. I'm usually jealous of you guys in NZ as you can pretty much play anywhere. I wonder if their geo-detection has you pegged as being in Australia.

Well that's a strange one. Just tried to sign up here but

Quote:

You can not log in or register because you are accessing the site from a location where Online Gambling may be illegal

Never had that problem before from New Zealand. As far as i know it's not illegal to gamble online (although its a grey area law-wise).
Spoke to chat and was told

Quote:

Operator Jane:
We do not accept players from your country , because we do not have a licence in your country

Pretty sure we'd run on the license of the casino in the jurisdiction of the casino itself not licensed in every country of every player? She said she'd talk to the manager and just told them to email me or not. No big deal either way.
Such is life! 🍺

As there are not many reviews here, I thought i'd post my experiences with Dr. Vegas. When i signep up there they offered 20 no deposit spins on some (ukinown to me) game which i only won 1 euro or so on. It almost goes without saying that i lost this free money very quickly. As they don't offer netent or Microgaming nor one of the other well known providers such as WMS or Quickspin, i didnt know what games to play to have a good chance of winning (they do however have games from Playn' Go and Barcrest and in addition some exclusive games no where else to be found). I saw their updated their welcome offer to 10 no deposit spins on one of their exclusive slots. So after playing away the free money, i decided to make a deposit of 100 and got a 100% bonus. I kept playing for hours trying many different games which was quite fun if you can't stick to your "usual" games. In the end i even managed to make a small cashout (even though it was overall a loss) and I was surprised how fast they paid as I only waited about 10 minutes. This is one of the fastest withdrawal times of all casinos. The verification process also was very quick, I dont remember the exact time but all was approved on the same day. So if you dont mind not being able to play netent or MG, its a very good casino! They could have a slightly better layout of the site as this one does seem a bit "simple" for me and of course could provide more game providers, including the above mentioned ones. Aside from that, its a top casino which deserves a very high ranking.

4 out of 5 stars (the fifth star could have been there if more game providers were offered).

Tried this casino while ago couple of times.
I do like that this guys have quite unique games selection - quickspin and nextgen, and adding to this IGT. Already good selection , and it is hard to get tired from those amount of slots.
First deposit was spent in nextgen games, but i had great playtime, about 2 hours, but nothing great pop up. Two more deposits bring me some fun in IGT games and quickspin, even i had one withdrawal - was paid next working days, casino do not ask my documents. Not bad at all.
But unfortunately nothing to keep me as really long time customer.
