Casino Mira is an online casino established in 2010 that runs on a multi-software platform offering games from a variety of suppliers. It is operated by Limesco Limited and is registered under the jurisdiction of Curaçao. Last Updated: February 1, 2020.
Casino Mira is a sister site to the independent Russian poker room Poker Mira, which has been in business since 2010. The casino is licensed in Curacao and is available in English, Russian, and Ukrainian languages. It offers punters the chance to play a selection of slot machines on the Microgaming Quickfire platform, along with slots from Igrosoft, a well known and popular Russian slot machine developer.
Following the trend that we see from so many other casinos these days, Casino Mira is totally playable in your web browser, and does not require a software download or installation. The game selection at the casino is a little limited in comparison to other casinos that run the same Quickfire platform. In all there were a selection of 71 Microgaming slots along with 16 slot machines from Igrosoft when I played here. Apart from the slot machines there are only nine other games from Microgaming including a few different versions of Roulette and Blackjack, along with Poker Pursuit and Keno.
While the number of Microgaming slots is limited, the casino has hand picked most of the latest and greatest titles, including the likes of Battlestar Galactica, High Society, Immortal Romance, Playboy, Terminator 2, The Finer Reels of Life, and the Untamed series of games. These are all high quality games, and they load quickly and play as smoothly as any other Quickfire casino. The games are displayed alphabetically in a standard grid formation of game logos, and the casino has a handy search box function that can be used to find the game you want quickly. I was disappointed to see that the Casino Mira does not participate in Microgaming's progressive jackpot network, and the absence of popular games like Mega Moolah, The Dark Knight, and Major Millions is missed.
The casino's other set of games from Igrosoft may well be totally unknown to you if (like me) you are not from Russia, Ukraine, or the surrounding countries. And truth be told, they appear rather primitive in comparison to Microgaming's big budget modern titles. However I am assured by players familiar with the games that they are enormously popular among locals as they became something of an institution in land based casinos during the last decade, before the government decided to restrict gambling to specific geographical zones. The games, which include Crazy Monkey, Fruit Cocktail, Island, Gnome, Sweet Life, and others are known and loved for their potentially high paying bonus rounds and features such as paying both ways on winning paylines.
Support is provided in three languages - English, Russian, and Ukrainian - and it is available via email or live chat. The live chat support operates during local hours, but can be offline during the night for players from other regions, in which case you will have to wait or use the email option. There is no telephone support provided.
The casino's focus on players from eastern Europe is reflected in the banking options which include Moneta, QIWI, Yandex and WebMoney, all popular e-wallets that serve Russian customers. In addition the casino accepts credit cards and various other e-wallets. Deposits are handled instantly and your first withdrawal will be subject to an identity verification procedure, even for small amounts. This is where things hit a snag for us, with the identity verification process taking over a week, then our test withdrawal taking another 4 days. This should probably not be a surprise as the sister poker site, Poker Mira, is known for payments taking longer than players would like, with poker players reporting waits of more than a week on some occasions.
In terms of withdrawal restrictions, the casino allows players to make no more than four withdrawals in any 30 day period. In addition, a clause in the casino's terms and conditions says that it reserves the right to pay out any jackpot wins of more than $20,000 within 12 months. This could mean payments of as little as $1667 per month, which is one of the lowest published withdrawal limits that I have ever seen at an online casino, or it could mean they wait 12 months then pay the whole amount. The terms are not clear in that respect.
Casino Mira does not publish any payout percentages for its games, either as theoretical numbers or as audited monthly payout figures. The website displays a certificate from Technical Systems Testing confirming the validity of the random number generator used by the site. However I take exception to the fact that this RNG is used by software from Connective Games, the supplier for the site's poker software, and it has nothing to do with the casino side of the operations or any of its games. Some might view such claims as deceptive. I know for a fact that the Microgaming Quickfire games cannot be manipulated by individual casinos and that they are the same everywhere that they are played, so I am satisfied with their fairness. However there is no certification provided for the Igrosoft games, so you will have to take their fairness on trust.
I suspect that Casino Mira will be most interesting to those of you who have played the slots from Igrosoft at land-based venues before. In that respect, the addition of some of Microgaming's latest and greatest games is icing on the cake. For those of us who are not familiar with these games, there is little reason to play here, especially with the lack of Microgaming progressive jackpots, non-slot games, and the restrictive jackpot withdrawal policy.
