Review of BetBright Casino
There are a lot of casinos that have managed to merge their different divisions into one product, but most of these companies have been around for quite a long time. BetBright is different in this aspect, as the site only recently launched their casino functions, despite having been in operation for the past few years as a sportsbook. Based in Ireland, BetBright only serves the British and Irish betting markets, but does offer a large number of casino games.
Software and game selection
BetBright has a web platform for all of its betting products, including both the casino and sportsbook. The games are provided by Microgaming's Quickfire platform, along with a couple of other well known providers such as Net Entertainment. This means that the casino offers a slew of slots, blackjack, roulette, and video poker games to their customers. The presentation of the site is well done, with games laid out in a familiar and easy to navigate grid format. However my major beef with the design of the site is that there is no game search box built into the website, and due to the fact that the games are displayed in a grid of logos without any text (and in seemingly random order), I couldn't use my browser's text search function to find a specific game either.
Upon setting up my account, I found that BetBright has a single wallet, which meant I could deposit once and play between the casino and the sportsbook without having to shuffle funds between separate accounts. This came in handy as I was able to play some blackjack, spin the reels in the Game of Thrones slot, and then transition over to the sportsbook to lay down a bet on a Premier League match that was set to start imminently. This all worked rather well, with no issues encountered on my part.
The slot selection at BetBright is diverse, with over 350 modern video slots on offer as well as a decent amount of older 3-reel classic slots. There are plenty of variations of Roulette and Blackjack, along with other table games including Casino Hold'em, Craps, Baccarat, Caribbean Stud Poker, 3 Card Poker and Red Dog. Add to that a bunch of video poker games and you have a very diverse range of games to bet on.
As our smartphones and tablets continue to grow more popular, mobile gaming is becoming more important to players and casinos alike. BetBright actually has dedicated apps for both Android and iOS devices that are available directly through the site or the Apple App Store (Google has an anti-gambling stance toward apps in its Play Store). I put the app onto my iPhone 6s and was able to bring up the sportsbook as well as a dedicated selection of casino games. It may not be the best casino app I've ever encountered, but BetBright's offering certainly got the job done.
Banking and customer support options
I think one thing that really surprised me at BetBright is the limited set of deposit and withdrawal options, with common e-wallets that you see almost everywhere else not even an option. Players can deposit and withdraw funds only through credit cards and bank transfers, which is a little limited in my book. I deposited and played for a while then initiated a withdrawal back to my debit card. The funds appeared back on my account three days later which isn't bad, but not exactly fast either. Another thing to watch out for is the clause that limits withdrawals to £4,000 per week if the amount you are withdrawing is in excess of three times your total deposits made at the site. Thankfully this limit does not apply to winnings from the progressive jackpots available in the casino.
Customer support at BetBright is friendly enough, with the site's staff reachable via email, telephone, or live chat. I contacted support through the chat function and found the help I received to be quick and courteous, even as I rambled on about some bonus terms. Unfortunately support is not available around the clock, so if you're a night owl in need of assistance after midnight, you will have to wait until 8am the next day.
Security, fairness, and responsible gaming
BetBright Casino has its security on lockdown via SSL technology that is used throughout its site at all times. This means that the information to send to and from the casino is secure, which is more than we can say about some other sites we have reviewed recently. The company publishes a full privacy policy that lets you see how any of your information may be used.
As a UK-focused operation that is run out of Ireland, BetBright maintains a license to operate from the UK Gambling Commission and is registered with the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS) should you need to involve third party mediation in the event of a dispute. Fairness of the games is not directly addressed by BetBright in the various sections of the site that I looked through, nor does the site appear to publish any audited RTP numbers apart from the theoretical numbers that are published in-game by some of the providers such as Net Entertainment.
Responsible Gaming is given a dedicated section on the help by BetBright, which helps to identify risky behaviours. Players can also find links to the outside assistance organisations Gamble Aware and GamCare, or can opt to send an email to the support staff, who can set deposit and loss limits on your account or even help you self-exclude from the site for a period of time.
Conclusion
BetBright has a lot to offer its customers, but needs to up its game a bit before I am ready to make it one of my regular all-in-one betting stops. I like the game collection, but wish there was a way to search through BetBright's extensive catalogue, and the banking could definitely be beefed up in terms of both options and withdrawal speed.
