Review of Begado Casino
Begado Casino is a little different to the internet casinos that we have seen from owners Netad Management in the past. Launched in 2012, Begado uses the Nuworks gaming platform, which offers a newer and different gaming library from Netad's related RTG casinos such as WinPalace, Slots Jungle, and Casino Titan. It is fair to say that we have been less than thrilled with Begado's sister casinos, mainly due to the slow and frustrating withdrawal process followed by all casinos in this group.
Blacklisted for non-payment of winnings by related casino
Begado's operator, Netad Management, runs several casinos similarly with the same slow instalment payments for big winners. However the actions of the staff of the related Grand Macao Casino and its non-responsiveness in a case where we attempted to mediate in favour of a player that had won $6500 have lead to us blacklisting all casinos run by this operator. The simple story is that the player deposited a small amount and won a big one, and the casino refuses to pay her. Slow payments are one thing, refusal to pay winnings is rogue behaviour.
Software and Games
We were pleasantly surprised to see Begado offering the Nuworks software package. As mentioned above most other Netad casinos offers RTG games, so this is a bit of a departure from the status quo for this group. Players who wish to play at Begado are required to download the software suite from the casino's website, where they are then required to register their information to play. At this point in time, it is not possible to play the NuWorks games via your web browser.
The NuWorks platform is actually the "next generation" of games from RTG and, as you would expect from such an experienced developer launching an entirely new line of games, the games operate smoothly and are visually impressive. In particular we really enjoyed playing African Skies and Stone Age Cash, and you can really tell that the RTG/Nuworks group has worked hard to put the polish into their new library. It is definitely a case of quality over quantity though and at the time of the review Begado could only boast a limited gaming library of just 27 different video slots. RTG slot junkies may just find that there isn't enough variety to keep them coming back regularly for more.
The table games selection at Begado is similarly limited, but the games themselves offer a decent experience. They are more or less "re-skins" of the RTG table games, so if you have played them you will know exactly what to expect. While you won't find a huge variety of games like you will often see at other casinos, you get the basics such as Baccarat, Three Card Rummy, Tri Card Poker, Blackjack, and Hold'em Bonus. Add to that a couple of games of video poker and you have more or less the entire catalogue of games at Begado, with Roulette, Craps and Caribbean Stud being some of the more glaring omissions.
Banking and Customer Service
Begado Casino does offer several ways to deposit and withdraw money, more so than what we have recently seen at U.S. friendly casinos available on the web (see right for the full list). Of course, while it may be easy to get money into the casino, as usual for U.S. based players the devil in the detail comes when it is time to withdraw, and for that you must rely on a check.
This leads in to our biggest issue with this casino. While the options are good enough, we are concerned about the Netad Group's payment history. In the past we have dealt with several complaints regarding slow payments for casinos owned by Netad Management. Players are paid in the end, but wins are paid in instalments of "up to $3000 per fortnight" and the amount paid "depends on player class". Our translation of those phrases based on real world experience is that unless that you are a high roller who has lost a significant amount at the casino already (and really, why would a high roller be playing at this casino given the limitations?), you can expect to receive no more than $500 per fortnight at the very best. The bottom line is that if you do hit a nice win here you will be made to wait, possibly for months in the end for a decent sized four-figure win. Given our experience with the related Grand Macao Casino detailed above, we can no longer say with any confidence that you will be paid at all.
Customer service is available through live chat, telephone, or email 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. We found the support system to be good, with instant messages being answered quickly and questions regarding the Casino Listings free bonus chip being answered politely and comprehensively.
Ultimately Begado Casino has little going for it. Its main drawcard and indeed probably the main reason for its existence is that it accepts American players, not to mention that there aren't a lot of other NuWorks casinos around at the moment. Even so, there are better NuWorks casinos with exactly the same games such as BuzzLuck and Lucky Club Casino that we recommend that you try first. We can flat out say that this casino is not worth your time.
