Alf Casino is an online casino established in 2018 that runs on a multi-software platform offering games from a variety of suppliers. It is operated by Araxio Development N.V. and is registered under the jurisdiction of Curaçao. Last Updated: December 10, 2021.
Hey Willy, want to come to the garage and eat some cat? This is something that you'd hear from the legendary 1980's TV alien Alf, who came to Earth and met up with the Tanner family. When I got handed the slip to do this review, I thought I might be looking at a hairy beast that acts truly bizarre. No, not my mother-in-law! Alas, I was treated to more cartoonish looking creatures that give the site a light and airy feeling and I am still none the wiser as to why it is called Alf Casino.
The Alf Casino platform is designed around a browser-based interface that loads up with no downloading of software required. The design of the site is nicely done and looks clean on both desktop or mobile devices. The gaming platform is diverse, featuring titles from a plethora of gaming software providers including Net Entertainment, Microgaming, Play'n Go, Quickspin, Evolution, NYX, Elk Studios, Red Rake, Ainsworth, and many, many more.
The slot selection is truly impressive, with hundreds of titles from the above-mentioned developers. You'll see a bunch of different themes and features in these games, as well as some licensed titles making their way onto the roster such as Playboy, Highlander, and the Phantom of the Opera. While there are some games with small jackpots attached, the casino does not offer major progressive jackpots like Mega Moolah or Mega Fortune, which is a real shame.
If you're looking for table games or video poker, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the selection available at Alf Casino. The site has dozens of games in these categories, including games like blackjack, baccarat, craps, war, roulette, and more. Additionally, there are multiple variants that alter the rules a bit to give you a new experience. The video poker machines are decent enough as well, with 25 different games available. And to top it off there are live dealer tables available from providers Ezugi and Evolution Gaming.
The banking system at Alf Casino is solid in some aspects, but needs work in others. The number of deposit and withdrawal options is impressive, giving punters the chance to use credit cards, eWallets, Bitcoin, and various local bank transfer methods to move their funds in and out of the casino. In my experience with this operator you can expect to wait 24 hours to have your withdrawal processed and they will only process withdrawals on weekdays during European daytime hours.
The casino's withdrawal policy states that it pays out up to a maximum of €10,000 per month, rising to up to €50,000 depending on your VIP status level at the casino. i.e. the more you deposit and play there the more they are willing to pay out. My testing showed that a small withdrawal payment was made within 48 hours to a Skrill account without issue. However it would be remiss of me not to point out that there have been complaints made by players about other casinos runs by the same operator (known as Tranello Limited or Araxio Development) of either slow withdrawal speed, or the casino splitting larger withdrawals up into instalments as small as €150 a week.
The customer support team in place is more or less what you would expect from an online casino, with the staff available through telephone, email, and live chat. The team picked up on my chat box request within 11 seconds, and was able to answer the questions I had related to the initial deposit bonus.
Alf Casino protects your information using standard SSL encryption that you find at most websites that transmit important personal data these days. Encryption is an important tool used to protect you from people that look to intercept your data in order to steal or commit identity theft. Of course all reputable casinos these days use this encryption, and it is good to see it in place here.
The topic of fairness is one that Alf doesn't really address. I looked through the terms and conditions, FAQ, and the about section, and couldn't find anything related. The casino does not publish the payout rates of its games, either in an individual or aggregate form. One particular concern that I had was the presence of games from both Betsoft and Pragmatic Play. Both companies are regarded as highly suspect here at Casino Listings for very good reasons, and as usual we warn players not to risk their money on either of the developers' games, no matter which casino you happen to be playing at.
Alf's operating company Araxio Development N.V. is licensed to operate by Antillephone, which is a master licensor authorised by the government of Curacao. While this may sound impressive on paper, in reality it is little more than a green light to run an online casino whichever way the operator deems fit while potentially dodging paying tax in whatever country the operator actually lives. Curacao offers little or no assistance to players in the event of disputes with its licensees, nor does it rigorously enforce any sort of regulatory standards. In a nutshell a Curacao license is worthless from a player's point of view.
The casino does have a responsible gaming page on their site, which provides information on identifying and fighting problem betting behaviours. While the information present does include links to outside groups, this casino is really only doing the bare minimum in this respect. As far as I could see there are no controls available to limit your activity in your personal account settings. You can self-exclude should you need it, but you will need to contact support to do so.
Alf Casino first up offers a huge selection of high quality games in an attractive and fun looking package. But once you look a little deeper there are a number of concerns, chief among them the lack of first tier licensing, and player reports of payment issues at other casinos run by the same people. I urge caution if you do try this one out, and if you do let us know in the comments how you far.
