Review of Playtech casino software
Playtech offers a unified software solution, which allows for players to play a variety of games without logging in multiple times. The software contains casino table games, slots, poker, live dealer games, and other unique offerings. While the variety of the games is large, almost all of their games share a common variable of high production quality.
Over the years Playtech has developed a lot of its own properties, with great slots such as Mr. Cash Back and Great Blue being the end result. Traditional looking video slots are not the only reel games that are present either, as you can also enjoy the odd looking but very fun Around the World along with many other parlour games that offer unique gameplay for those looking for something different.
While the in-house creations are great, Playtech also holds some very large entertainment licenses, which means that the group has assembled a fine collection of movie, TV, and pop culture themed slots. This includes the likes of Top Gun, The X-Files, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, The Mummy, and King Kong, among many others.
Playtech casinos don't hold back in the progressive jackpot department either, with games such as Beach Life, Gold Rally, and Jackpot Giant offering the chance of a seven figure payday. The biggest jackpot win on the network recorded so far was a £5.2 million win on Beach Life at Betfred in February 2012. One drawback to these enormous jackpots is, however, the restrictive payment policies of many Playtech casinos, which we talk about in detail below.
Playtech's table games are generally polished and a lot of fun to play. The games all play very smoothly and impart a look of class that a lot of other software provider games are lacking. Along with your standard Blackjack variants, Roulette, Baccarat, and Caribbean Stud, the casino has a few games you won't find elsewhere such as Wild Viking and Stravaganza. Fans of land casino table games should check out Playtech's table games; they are definitely worth your time.
Withdrawal restrictions warning
While the software and games offered are undoubtedly of a high quality, the quality of the individual casinos licensing Playtech's games varies wildly. On the one hand you have top tier operators such as Bet365, Betfred, and BoyleCasino, and on the other you have low-rent casinos such as Joyland Casino that once ripped off a jackpot winner of roughly €2 million, and the African Palace that did something similar. And here is where we come to our biggest beef with Playtech casinos: the restrictive withdrawal policies.
If you're playing at a Playtech casino, chances are better than average that the casino limits withdrawals to a relatively small amount such as £9000 per month with the kicker being that progressive jackpot wins are included in this limit. Imagine winning £5.2 million and being told you had to receive it at £9000 per month for the next 520 months, or 48 years! Luckily in that case the winner was playing at Betfred, one of the better Playtech casinos, that did not implement such a policy.
What makes this policy worse is the fact that Playtech hands the entire lump sum over to the casino from the progressive jackpot pool after the jackpot is won and the casino is left to do what they want with it, including hold the balance while drip-feeding the payments out to the winner for a lifetime (assuming they stay in business that long). Even worse again is that many of the casinos that enforce this policy are indirectly owned by Playtech itself through its subsidiary companies! So our message is clear: if you are a progressive player, make sure you play at a Playtech casino that does not limit payouts on progressive jackpot wins. As this clause is usually hidden three pages down amongst a bunch of legalese in the terms and conditions pages that most people do not read when signing up to a casino, we have noted this information on our reviews of each casino under the "withdrawal limit" section.
Founder's criminal history
Playtech's founder, Israeli billionaire Teddy Sagi, has never been far from controversy. His "colourful" history includes a 9 month jail term in Israel in 1994 after being convicted of bribery and fraud charges related to an insider trading case. He has been sued in a dispute over ownership and distribution of profits of a pornography business, and has even been the target of an assassination attempt. We'll leave it to you to decide whether this is someone who would pass a stringent character assessment supposedly required to be running an online gambling business in regulated jurisdictions. It is believed that Sagi has divested most of his stake in the company in recent years.
Conclusion
Playtech has created some excellent software that features high quality slots and casino games. It licenses this software to some large and reputable gaming brands, along with many others of varying quality. The games are fun and the potential wins in terms of jackpots are enormous. However many of its licensees institute a predatory withdrawal limit policy on progressive jackpot wins, and the company has a history of not only letting them enforce such predatory policies, but also getting away with stealing funds from a jackpot winner. So make sure you do your research and stick to the casinos that we rate highly here, especially if you are a progressive jackpot player.

Thank you for the information.I haven't played a whole lot of Playtech yet but the have some fun looking slots.
I love Playtech slots just i dont play them too often because there are not so many casinos which have these slots. But they really have many great slots with high payouts, fun game play and so on. I love lots of older games such a Cherry Love but also i love and new games like Superman.
Sorry guys , got the bonus finally even more then the 400% woo hoo 🙂 not doing great but having fun LOL ..disregard my first post about Omni ok..sorry I posted that . I'm new so I don't know how to delete it . 🙂
I just tried to claim the new players bonus at Omni Casino as offered at this forum ..the 400% bonus and was told that they offer 100% to new players so I didn't open an account . This is the first time that this has happened .. Maybe need to update that post on here 🙂
Hi ,
I have been trying out the playtech casinos , most recent City Club and 21 Nova with their new players bonuses ..won on both 240.00 at City club and 420.00 at 21 Nova ,, for me no problems with payouts through my instadebit account , support was great .. I like the games and a nice switch from boring micro's that are so tight lately !!!
i too have played blackjack and roulette on betfred (playtech) and can confirm they are disgraceful, they are quick to take your money but never give you a fair run. Avoid.
Playtech casinos have some very lame, poor payouts, no chance-to-win games. Blackjack on this gambling provider most be the most unfair of all the blackjacks in the gabling universe. Cannot find another place where the chances to win are 1 in 10. Texas hold'em poker is a joke and i have no words to describe the ripp-off that this game is on the Playtech version.
Theirs bonus policy concerning to the play-through requierements is ridiculous. 40x deposit plus bonus and the bonus isn´t cashible?🤷? If you deposit 100 and get 25 of bonus, you will need to roll over the sum of your deposit and bonus 40 times, Is this fair? So why do i need to roll over my own money (75)?
That's all i have to say about Playtech.
Olympic Casino.
I been trying to see if you rated this casino, but don't seem to find it. Unfortunately I been playing at William Hill and Sky Kings before I came across your site.
I done a w/d on both and their email said to wait 4 days for w/d.I am using neteller so hopefully won't have any problems.
PKR CASINO , Service very poor..
Sports Interaction. very good !.
Hi danyorkys. Centrebet and Genting are indeed good casinos.
We have most of those ones in our database but have not reviewed them fully. Here is what I know:
Casino Plex - ok as far as I am aware.
Winner Casino - average reputation.
VIP Palace - don't know this one, did you mean Palace VIP? Palace VIP is owned by Bwin / Party Gaming so should be fine.
Sport Action - again don't know it. Maybe you meant Sports Interaction?
Gold Club Casino - its the oldest Boss Media casino and has been around since 1997. It fine - as long as you did not mean Gold VIP Club which is a terrible scam of a casino.
