The United Kingdom Gambling Commission has released its latest report on the state of gambling affairs in Britain, noting that the industry generated £6.8 billion in Gross Gambling Yield between April 2013 and March 2014.
The report indicates that online gambling had the highest growth, with online casino and bingo betting raising 22% in the past year.
Betting shops generating Gross Gambling Yields of £1.56 billion, up 1%.
National Lottery sales topped £6.7 billion for the year.
The industry employs 203,715 employees in the UK, down 5,357 from last year.
Non remote gaming holds 47% of the country's Gross Gaming Yield.
