Police in Cyprus have announced that they have arrested a suspect who they suspect of running an illegal online betting website.

The suspect arrested is a Bulgarian man who was accused of running the illegal website in the Paphos region of Cyprus. Police raided his car and took three computers, five memory cards, and nineteen hard drives into custody. Upon inspection, police found that there was evidence of illegal gambling activity.

Online gambling was banned in Cyprus back in 2012, and operators found guilty of running a site can face jail time and penalties of up to €300,000. The man may face deportation if he is found guilty.
