Rational Group Details its Charitable Giving Program

Internet poker firm The Rational Group has released its latest round of information on the company's charitable giving, revealing that it has donated $560,078 in the last 7 months.

Rational is the parent company of PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, and donated big to the Philippines because of Typhoon Haiyan.

The money donated went to CARE International, and resulted in the purchase of:

  • Over 1,100 tonnes of food reached over a quarter million victims of the typhoon

  • Cash for food purchases in local markets was given to 3,700 desperate people

  • Emergency shelters or material for shelters was supplied to 117,000 victims

  • Training facilities and cash was made available to assist almost 20,000 survivors to again generate income.
