This story was published more than 9 years ago.

Internet betting operator Betclic has pulled out of the Belgian online gambling market following allegations by federal prosecutors that the group was breaking the law by offering services to the country's citizens.

Betclic contends that it has done nothing wrong, but has decided to pull its betting services from the country in order to avoid large fines and possible jail time for company officials.

Some time back, Belgium's gaming operator seized €60,000 from Betclic after the operator was added to the company's blacklist.
