The Poker Players Alliance has revealed that it is talking to political staffers connected with the House Judiciary Committee, along with members of Congress, in preparation for a Department of Justice oversight hearing next Tuesday.
It is understood that Attorney General Eric Holder is likely to testify, making the hearing an even better opportunity to examine the legality of the DoJ's position on internet gambling in general and poker in particular in the wake of the Black Friday indictments.
With media coverage on internet poker at an all-time high, the issue is definitely topical and will have the close interest of oversight committee members. The PPA has therefore made available a relevant internet link at http://judiciary.house.gov/about/members.html, urging members to contact committee members with their concerns, suggestions and questions.
The hearing takes place at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington DC.
