About Aces and Faces
Aces and Faces is essentially a slight variation on the Jacks or Better – 10s or Better series of video poker games out there. The only difference in this game is that aces and face cards can form their own four of a kind. In other words, any combination of four aces and faces counts as this lucrative hand, so your chances of winning increase somewhat.
Start the game off by deciding how much you are going to ante. Once that’s done, click on the ‘deal’ button to receive five cards. You must now select which cards from your original hand you are going to keep before clicking the ‘deal’ button and receiving new cards for all of those you choose to discard. You must have at least a pair of jacks in order to at least win back your initial hand. Each time you win, you are presented with the option of collecting your winnings or trying to double them by moving to a bonus game. The bonus game involves being dealt five cards with one facing upwards. Your goal is to pick a card from the four which are not shown whose value is greater than the card displayed.
If the very slight variation on most forms of video poker is not enough to pique your interest in Aces and Faces, then perhaps the cool interface of the game might tip the scales in its favor. The music, a funky 70s, space age-esque beat is about as cool a background jig as you will find anywhere. You might find yourself happily bobbing along for hours! The retro Atari-like feel is also worth an honorable mention.
