hi all,

I decided to share with some of my ideas on how to make a forum better !

First of all, I wanted to say that I really appreciate what you've done here! Nice job!

Now my ideas :

I do not actually know if anybody expressed the same idea before, but I think it would be much more convenient for the forum users if there was a kind of "notificator", that would show the users if there are any answers on his/her posts made before when they log in. (If it is technically possible)

It would also be great if trivia contests would be much intensive and active, (this is my personal concern as you guess) I think it would be great if users were rewarded by their answers, but the questions should be asked by Ed.

We already have notifications of new topics. At the top of every forum index page there is a link that says "View all unread posts". You can also access the same information by hovering over your username at the top of the screen and selecting "Recent posts" from the menu.

Maybe we need to make the link more obvious if you guys aren't noticing it!

Also you should receive an email whenever someone replies to a topic that you have participated in.

Trivia prizes I am not so sure about because it is so easy for people to google the answers to most questions. You do get rewarded with CLChips anyway each time you answer!

Hi Ed,

you misunderstood me, I mean the notifications to the replies of my posts, not all the unread new posts.

But I've found out bookmarks option recently lol so it makes finding my posts easier and more convenient. As for the e-mails, I think no one likes their inbox mashed up with e-mails of notifications...

As for trivia, I do not have much experience in organizing them, so I think you are right. Wink

Yes on that recent posts page you have 3 tabs: "Recent Posts", "My recent posts", and "New posts since last visit".

The 2nd tab should show you what you are after because it shows only stuff that you have replied to, and it shows when there are new replies.
