Extra credit card charges from Bovada.lv ???

28 replies • Last post

HELP ! I am a new user on this site. I was just looking at my online bank account, and it looks as if Bovada.lv has taken out more money from my account than I authorized. Has anyone else experienced this problem ? I thought I could trust Bovada because it got a good rating on this site. Any similar experiences out there ? What should I do ?

Hi Jane, if you don't mind saying, how much more are we talking here? Is it a double charge for the same amount twice, or did they charge you say $105 for a $100 deposit?

They are reliable and one of the best for players in the United States at the moment, so I would be very surprised if something dodgy was going on.

Bovada does charge a credit card processing fee for deposits, with Visa deposits facing a 4.9% processing fee.

This means if you deposit $100 to the site your statement will show your charges as being $104.90. I think that may be the charges you are talking about. I will second Bovada being one of the best betting sites on the site.

Ouch, make sure you set yourself a limit and stick to your budget. If you can't do that, its better to stop gambling altogether.

Changing the subject here, but I am wondering if they ever updated their slots there? I haven't played there in ages, and I know the slots had a little something to be desired. 🙂 I did like the penny room poker, but as I said, it has been forever since I visited that (or any) online casinos before I played Win A Day the other day.

They still have a lot of the crummy games there, but they have upgraded a bit by introducing BetSoft slots, which are the ones with the really good 3D graphics. If you have played them here for free and are looking for a really good site to play them for real money, I'd definitely recommend Bovada.

I have played this reactor game there called Sugar Pop and I won big on it. I know some of us think the game is lame (*cough* Ed *cough*), but I love it and suggest you give it a spin.

yeah, it was actually the first time I had gambled online, and I was a bit overexcited. now i am adjusting and setting limits for myself -- quite conservative ones, because I don't want to lay down too much money. I have found that with a $20 or $40 bet, I am able to make a couple hundred, which is fine for me. question for you-- do i have to report my online winnings to the irs ? thanx

What do you like to play, Jane307? And are you staying with Bovada or have you been playing in other online casinos, too? Since you are new, there are lots of free chips advertised here that you can take advantage of to try out different places before you decide to deposit.

Like CL Ed says, stick to your limits, and have fun! 🙂

Yes, Hope777, I have been taking advantage of the great promos on this site. I am learning which games I like-- so far, Gladiator Wars (Bovada), Cash Bandits, Three Stooges Brideless Groom and Green Light are my favorite games. I am still not sure which casinos I like best, but I like the plethora of emails they send with various promotions. So far, I won the jackpot ($3,000) on Gladiator Wars, which is the first time I have ever won a jackpot ! I was astounded. Then I won $1,000 (again on Gladiator), but I gave that all back in search of the elusive mega-jackpot 🙂 I am having a good run of luck and enjoying myself at the same time.

Thanks for your response. Glad you are having fun and how charmed you are to hit a jackpot so soon! Many have been playing for a long time without hitting a jackpot! Which casino were you playing to win that? I am always so curious, and I enjoy hearing about others' experiences.

Glad you found the no-deposit bonus page here.. That's kind of how I started and went about getting to know different places. Have you ever tried 3Dice? Many love that casino. I used to play free tournaments there. My favorite casino is Win A Day casino for many reasons. I do like Club World and RTG, but sometimes it is nice to have a change from the same old same old games. 🙂

I won a minor for 800 once on the Lucky Tiger game and then I think it was a 800 or 900 win on Mystic Dragon One at Lucky Red and one at Slotastic I think it was called? See? The ol' memory cannot even think of the name, lol But, yeah, I think that is right - I haven't played there in forever.

I took a break from online casinos for almost a year and then made my first deposit in a long time the other day to Win A Day.. I have just been too busy to play and was working outside the home. Plus I work online so when I wasn't working I didn't want to still be on the computer. lol I used to have SO many casinos downloaded into my computer and now I have just a few and I also used to play tournaments almost every day and now there is just not time. But I still really enjoy playing and find it a relaxing way to take a break. AND more fun when we are winning, of course! 🙂

Hi Hope777, well, the way I won the jackpot at Bovada playing Gladiator Wars still eludes me! I was playing 60 dollars and doing well and so I increased my bet incrementally until my winnings went berserk. Next thing I knew my balance said $3,000 and change and the jackpot went down to nothing. At first I thought it was a computer error, and so I really didn't think I would get a real, live check. Then a few days later I got a check and put it in my Citibank account; Next day it was available. I couldn't believe it!

But you know Hope 777, I think I may have to switch to another casino because of the banking accounting difficulties I experience at Bovada. They withdraw the money from your account, but sometimes it doesn't show up on your online banking until several days later. As a result, I overdrew my account three times ! Oh well, I guess I just have to find some other fun sites.

Hope777, I was eager to try 3Dice, given that it is the #1 choice at this site. But unfortunately right now they are not accepting U.S. players because of "deposit issues" (don't know what that means!)

Anyway, glad to see you online.

Oh wow, I had no idea about 3Dice. I would highly recommend Win A Day. They are really great. The only issue for me is to have a chance at their progressive you have to bet five dollars per spin. But the games are fun, and they even have an entire page of penny slots - no download necessary. Customer service is top notch, and they have nice rewards for players. I won the "Winners Every Day" twice where they put 100 dollars in my account. They often give free play connected to their newsletter and when they put out new games. I really don't play anywhere else anymore.

oh wow, thanks for the info. i'm going to try win-a-day tomorrow. no luck tonight but its ok. i do hate to lose money, though. REALLY hate it. do you play the 100%-10000% promos or the free spins promos ? so far i have not. i did win $150 on a no-deposit bonus at slotland-- a class act-- they sent me a check fedex, got it in 3 days, no charge. that winners-everyday sounds neat, i'll check it out. sorry for all lowercase, my laptop is broken.

You'll probably like Winaday Jane, as they and Slotland are owned and run by the exact same people. They have different and much better games than Slotland though (IMHO).

Slotland's games, at least the few that I have played, were fun, probably more so because I won the free bonus 🙂 I took a look at Winaday last night, and I liked the look of the games. That, plus hope777's recommendation and the fact that it is so highly rated here mean that I will try it this week. Thx.

Another really nice feature at Win A Day is their play through requirements on their bonuses are considerably lower than most casinos.

That is a nice little bonus at Slotland - I have never cashed out there when I have played with their no deposit monies.

Good luck!

Well put it on your list for "someday," I didn't realize that, because I always use my Visa card.

I actually use a prepaid Visa card from Account Now. I can load money on it when I want to play. I also use it for direct deposit for one of my jobs instead of direct deposit into my bank account, so it is nice having one more option when it comes to where I keep all my riches. haha! 😉

That prepaid Visa is a GREAT idea ! Why didn't I think of that 👍 Today is Saturday and I whiled away the hours playing off a $20 no-deposit bonus that Aladdin's Riches were kind enough to give me. Only 10X playthrough, max w/d $200. I got up to 100 $ because I won 50 free spins on one game, but over the next couple of hours I slowly leaked money until pffft-- it was gone. Fun way to spend a Saturday though 🍺

Well that is a decent chip and at least you were able to play a while on it. I hate when it takes it away immediately - land OR online casinos. It is fun to be ale to play a while on our money. I do find spinning the reels relaxing, even though I rarely win. lol That is why I don't deposit very often, but I don't spend money on many other things to do with entertainment, so it is fun to do something different and have something to look forward to (possible BIG WIN!) once in a while. lol

I will wait to read your post in the Perpetual Winners Thread when you hit that big one, no matter where you decide to play. 😉

Good luck! 🙂

I believe that the humongous wins only go to the high rollers-- the machines are programmed that way, plus the casinos keep track of each player's deposits. But like you I enjoy the activity of playing the slots, and I do believe I can make a couple of hundred here and there. Anyway, enjoy the slots !

Hey Jane, a reactor is a slot looking game that sees you matching touching symbols in something like a Dr. Mario style game. When you hook together more symbols you win more money, and some symbols are worth more than others. I have always had good luck with Sugar Pop, and I love the fact you can level up to get extra bonuses.
