LMBO! We were talking about your mom, and Bingo, in another thread even while this was going on so I thought SURE you would get it, lol! I really WANTED you to get it, too! I chose that object, because that is what my eyes fell on when looking around my messy room and I thought it would be a perfect (but not so difficult) object. I really didn't realize it would be such a challenge, but any of these can be difficult. Look how long it took to guess a lamp? lol

I was thinking it was something to do with a car. I thought you were taking it with you to purposely do something to your car. It's funny how the mind gets on one thing and can't let go.

Not a pepper grinder. The round part is on the front (not the top) of the item. It can be used in any room but normally would be used in an office if one is available.

I was convinced the newest item was a safe but then I just re-read and it says the top part goes up and down. Are the numbers part of a keypad?

It's white but could be any color. Remember the top part that goes up and down? Why would that be? This is another head slap one.

It is the hand thing and the numbers thing that is throwing me off, I think. I can't picture this "thing" in my mind at all with a circle on the front, a top that goes up and down and numbers and a hand, too, lol.! I will keep thinking!
