Online Lottery Games

12 replies • Last post

Yesterday I came to the realization that my home state of Michigan has begun offering online lottery games. While this has been discussed here for quite some time, I haven't seen any marketing or anything like that for it.

The games are basic scratch cards and keno, which you can play at any decent casino, and really suck from the free bits that I tried out. I really wish they would allow us to buy tickets for big games like Mega Millions or Powerball, but this is not an option as of yet.

Have you ever played a lottery game online before, and do you think they're a good idea? Right now I am kind of mixed on the idea, and would like to see those bigger games added in.

What say you?

I have never played lottery online. I think it would be convenient. I do not buy lottery tickets though.

I also began to think about the online lottery. I think it's interesting. I want to try.

Yeah I am not a fan of scratch cards. I really don't see the point of them online. I hope Michigan begins offering something a little more "exciting".

Because you're a tor-using spammer who is pretending to be American and posting the name of the same casino over and over on various unrelated threads, despite the fact that if you were American you would not be able to play there.

Hello all!

I got question! UK lottery games!, Ive been playing them for a little while now and i do enjoy them and find then quite fun!, but what do they mean by odds? 2.9 odds or 3.46 odds to win?? so do these numbers mean? Sorry if i seem stupid, but there are some games which are £5 but the odds are 2.92. i just understand there terms! I feel really stupid asking this! haha! apologies !, Do odds like this apply to slots and jackpot games at casino's too?

Adam.

Hey Adam. I believe that applies with the odds of winning a prize. For instance you would have a 1:2.92 shot of winning any money back on that £5 card. That is at least how I read the odds on bar Keno when I am out drinking.

I don't know if what I am about to say holds true for the UK lotteries you are talking about, if fact I have never seen a lottery where they tell you the exact odds of winning. But when I see decimal odds like that for a bet (usually sports), that usually represents what you are paid for a 1 unit bet if you win. So if you bet £5 on something that paid 2.92, you would be paid 5 * 2.92 = £14.60. Whereas if you see the odds of 3/1 or 3 to 1, you are paid £4 for a £1 bet - your bet returned plus the 3 you won. Americans have a whole other weird sports betting system that I do not understand at all. I find decimal odds easier to deal with as they include your stake and you can easily multiple your bet by the odds to work out how much you will be paid if you win.

This is whole online lottery thing will be far from happening where I am from ( Massachusetts). I mean we got approved for casinos finally and those wont be in for 5 years!!!!! I mean we offer million dollar scratch tickets for 5 bucks with 28 million printed for that game. I cant imagine what the odds would be for that!!!! They cut cost on the paper and delivery but still would be making a killing I bet. But I wouldn't mind a regulated poker site where I know my money will be more safe , as compared to what happened to Full tilt and whatnot .
I do agree with the sports betting in America ,very confusing . But also sadly I don't bet on sports. I don't trust athletes and what they did the night before a game. If I was going to gamble on sports , I would probly only do the NHL. Because there is no way that you could get a league that is mainly made of Canadians to cheat on it. Not to say Im sure somewhere in history some has tried.

I don't like lottery games online. I like to physically hold the ticket and do the scratching. When i do buy tickets, I usually buy a crossword or a bingo or something that will take a while, and not just scratch a few numbers and it is over. lol It might be convenient to be able to buy the Mega million and Powerballs, etc., online.

I get what we here call a "scratchie" once a year at Christmas when my mother buys them for everyone. Online, they are just about the most boring and stupid thing ever invented. Some of them even have a virtual coin or key or something you can pretend to scratch the stuff off with. Lame!
