Casino Saga

11 replies • Last post

Has anyone checked out Casino Saga yet? I did earlier today and thought it was pretty cool. My experience with it was pretty neat, as it looks to combine video game, social play, and traditional land casinos all in one.

Here are some screen grabs I took. One is where you fight a boss and try to advance to unlock more games.

Pretty neat, eh?

How you played since you from USA??
looks good, but i am from not eligible country to play there, currently they accept very short list of countries, live chat promise me that more will be added within few more next win.
Wins on fight with boss has x 40 wagering requirements, which make them not so cool.

slim helps us out to test some casinos so sometimes we can get a special account set up that allows him access to try a casino.

I have been playing there a bit today. I had one of the strangest blackjack sessions. I started with €100 and went almost straight down to my last €2 but made it all the way back up to €70. Then I did a boss battle which was, I have to say, mind-numbingly tedious until I won €500 and 25 free spins right at the end after about 10 minutes of spinning a wheel over and over that more often than not rewards you with nothing. I have no idea if the money is cash or bonus funds (I see belaff says it is 40x wagering) and there is no way to tell in your account on the website.

The worst thing is that there are no instructions or information as to what is going on generally in the saga world, and in the boss fights. There is a big map which shows different regions and their bosses, but you can't interact or click on or do anything else with the map. When you play a game you can choose different "machines" of the same game which are in the different regions and although they show the daily RTP for each game in each region I don't think it makes a difference what you pick. There is no animation or heroes casting spells or hitting the bad guys when you are fighting. They just stand there on either side of the wheels which are very much like Mega Fortune and you take turns spinning these wheels round and round and round until one of you makes it to the centre wheel and wins the fight. You can win free spins, money and XP points (but I have no idea what they are useful for).

All in all its a strange casino. Some games are blocked from play until you unlock them which I think could be a big mistake. Imagine you wanted to play your favourite game for real money at a casino and they said no you can't play this one until you have played some other one for a certain amount of time or spins. That is crazy. It's like when I bought Street Fighter 4 for my PS3 a few years ago and found that half the characters were locked and I would have to play through the game over and over to unlock them all. The disc went into a drawer and I hardly ever played it again. I'll have another go at it tomorrow and see if I can understand it better!

Ed is right on this casino: it is nice looking, different, and has a good library of games, but has some things that need tweaking in order to make it really a great spot to play.

I don't like the fact that the interface doesn't tell you how much you have to wager on bonuses, and I think the quest thing is dumb unless you have clearly defined goals and locations. Am I really wagering all this money to fight a boss just so that I can unlock Fisticuffs?

This is a problem for me, as there are other casinos out there that offer this with far less hassle.

So I continued with my €500 that I won but this turned out to be a curse because as belaff suggested it added €20,000 in wagering to my account. As I figured out the only way to know this is to go to the withdrawal screen where it tells you that you will forfeit your funds unless you complete the remaining wagering.

Anyway every so often you get to do these boss battles which I described before. The money and/or winnings from free spins that you win against the boss are also subject to the wagering requirements so you can find yourself getting further and further in the wagering requirements hole if you aren't careful. I still have no idea what XP is for.

So I decided to put Dead or Alive on autoplay in the hope of a massive bonus round but had a lot of ups and downs over a couple of days now until I got to my last €0.38 and the game stopped. I checked and my wagering requirements had been reset to zero. I had qualified for another boss battle so I fired it up and I won another €500 and €20,000 in wagering. I kid you not.

Whats more, I just hit this agonisingly close screenshot... if that sheriff badge on the last reel had been one spot lower I would have won 4000 coins on that line, not 1600! :'(

One thing I can say is I have never had so much playtime for so little money at any other casino. Of course I have never even come close to being in a winning position from which I could make a withdrawal though.

Casino saga could be cool anyhow, if it restricts many countries (or, ALLOWS only a handful of countries), it will never be that cool like it could be

Country restrictions aren't the worst thing. I said it all in the review but the short version is that I don't like it. There are a number of problems like the forced wagering requirements after the boss battles and the biggest annoyance: locked games. I'm not going to play for weeks to get past 30 bosses just to play a locked game that I can play instantly at any other casino. Its just stupid.

Unfortunately, at the other side, as I see all the custom features, I really would like to try it.
