Does Anyone Watch The Walking Dead?

Does anyone watch the zombie show The Walking Dead? The midseason premiere was last night and it had killer ratings. I was so excited for this show to come back and loved the show last night.

Does anyone else watch this show? What do you think of it?

My wife is having a night out with friends tonight so it might just be a zombie marathon on the couch for me. I'm about 3 or 4 episodes behind now so I should be caught up tonight. But then again I've been watching a couple of episodes of Breaking Bad every night and I'm hooked on that too. Decisions, decisions...

I know what you mean, lol! I can never decide which of my FIVE Sunday night shows to watch first. And I can't wait for BB to come back, although those six episodes are going to fly by, then it will be over. 😢 Let us know when you are all caught up with TWD, CL-Ed! 🙂

I am SO happy that Ed has come to the light and decided to watch this show.

I recently dumped my cable, so I catch The Walking Dead at 10:01 on my computer with streaming. I missed the last episode while in Florida, but caught it last night. AWESOME.

The gore doesn't bother me, and yes, the story is killer.

My wife made it a point of telling me in front of her family how stupid the premise of the show is. I went on to point out to her that her favorite show Gray's Anatomy has featured in the last few seasons: A plane crash involving the hospital staff, a shooter coming into the hospital, and some other stupid freaky occurrences, all with a several million to one shot of ever happening to one person once, but it happens to this group of hospital people again and again...

I think a zombie apocalypse is more likely than the bad luck they have at that stupid hospital.

I think they use the "zombies" to illustrate the survival of people if a apoculypse should happen and communication and government should break down. You would probably have pockets of civilization trying to form with psychos at the helm. then there would be the sheep "zombies" just trying to get by day to day, wandering but with no real purpose.

This one really cracks me up. I found it about a year ago. Girls go wild over Daryl Dixon/Norman Reedus.

Check it out!

Be sure to watch until the end, because the ending is pretty funny, too. 🙂

Are there any ladies here that would agree with me that Rick is not hard on the eyes 😍 . He has a lot to do with why I enjoy the show so much. The more blood and guts and dirt he has on him seems to make him even more good looking LOL.

Yes, I have been in love with Norman Reedus since Boondock Saints and so many love Daryl. I would LOVE to meet him, but i would probably make an ass out of myself, lol. I would be SO embarrassed FOR that woman, and he is a good sport. I like the first video better. Whoever put that together did a great job. All those girls, like when they watch Elvis or the Beatles. lol

Lol!, So you like the "dirty" boys, huh? haha Just teasing you. 😉

I think it is so funny to hear these actors, like Rick and Maggie, in an interview and realize they are British. I can hear it in Maggie's character, sometimes, trying her American accent.

I guess Rick is not so bad. lol I couldn't understand how so many women were attracted to Shane, though. I never thought he was good looking and not just because of his psycho character. Especially after he shaved his head. Ewwwwww......lol

Another episode tonight, everyone! Only two more, then they are taking a break until "early 2013," but I am not sure exactly what that means. I will have to do some research and report back, unless anyone else knows?

And speaking of British actors, if anyone has seen The Wire and liked Stringer Bell's character, he is his British self in the show Luther. I highly recommend this show, it is another brilliant show! The seasons are very short, and there is only reported to be coming in 2013 (Season Three). After that, they are pushing for a Luther movie, which I strongly agree with. I would LOVE to see a Luther movie!

And speaking of "easy on the eyes," I adore Idris Elba (Stringer Bell/Lluther):

Brilliant show, excellent plot development and acting, and best of all: free to stream on Netflix! 🙂

So I watched up to the episode that ended with the samurai sword girl escaping and walking up to the prison fence covered in funky smelling zombie guts after Merle took the other two hostage.

Hahah that is so true, that show is completely ludicrous. My wife loves it too!

Which means...........you are all caught up, CL-Ed! That is until tonight's episode airs. I LOVED how the ending showed Rick carrying the baby and Daryl carrying Carol like a baby. I was SO hoping she was alive. I didn't think they would kill off a character in such an undignified fashion, just having her "disappear."

I hated that Maggie and Glen are now in the Governor's hands, and Andrea is such an IDIOT! How can she be so dumb? 🤷

I can't wait to see what happens tonight, but I know it is going to make me very angry. lol

Last night's episode was a transitional episode to lead us up to the mid-season finale. While there were a few plot points that bug the heck out of me, it was an overall good episode. The BEST scene, IMO, was watching Glen turn from errand boy to bad-ass Zombie Killer. That had to be one of the best man vs. zombie scenes of all time, Glen taking out a zombie while strapped to a chair. Go, Glen!

The Governor and Merle just give me the creeps and make me angry. I am very frustrated about a few of the plot points, as I said, but I will wait to see what others thought of last night's episode.

In season 1 when Rick woke up in the hospital to Zombie Land he found a man and his son that took him in. I remember Rick would make a call to him at dawn to check in. Whatever happened with them? I think I missed it.

They never followed up on that story line. Rick would talk to them, never knowing if he could hear him. Then he just stopped, probably gave up. I was always hoping he would run into them again, somehow, but I don't think that is going to happen. I don't think we will ever know, or i would be very surprised if we see the man and his son again ever.

That is also the scene where the scary doorknob turning was in the opening of the first season, and now there is a different opener, but equally creepy/scary.

Does anyone here watch American Horror Story? Talk about over the top!

Last season was "Haunted House," and this season is "Asylum." Ryan Murphy is always accused of going over the top with gore and shock and throwing in "everything and the kitchen sink," but I can't stop watch. For Jessica Lange's performances alone. She is amazing.

Okay! lol!

I really have the feeling the writers forgot about them. I mean, I would LOVE it if they survived and they all meet up again, but that was SO long ago now. And Rick never mentions them at all, they haven't been brought up in forever, but it could happen, I guess. I just don't think it will.

I was thinking about the father and son the other day too. There was an episode where Rick is on the radio and he says something like "this is the last time I'm going to try calling you", and they have never been mentioned again. But I was sure we would see Merle again and Carol ran away and you didn't see her get munched so I was pretty sure she would be back too. There was also the prison guy that Rick locked out in the yard and he came back later too (although that one was more ambiguous because you heard him screaming but they didn't show anything). The way I see it, in this show if they don't show someone getting eaten or killed then they ain't dead... yet!

I am so ready for this next week's episode. We know someone big will die, and there will be a new character added to the lineup. If you ever read the comics you will recognize him.

It is going to be a great episode on Sunday.

I want to read the comics, but I never want to get to the point where I am ahead of the show, even if it is different. I haven't read any of the comics yet.

Does anyone watch The Talking Dead after the show? I watch on Project Free TV, and they don't have The Talking Dead, but I guess at the end they do a memorial to all the people who have died AND the zombies who have died, along with their names? There are only clips of The Talking Dead on the AMC website, and I couldn't find the zombie memorials on there or on YouTube, but it would be fun to see.

I agree Ed. The showdown at Woodbury is going to take out someone.
I still can't believe that I have such a passion for a show about Zombies! I guess that weekend when I was too sick to get off the couch wasn't so bad after all. I started watching the weekend marathon of The Walking Dead and I have been a fan ever since! 👍

Shana, I feel the EXACT same way when you say, "I still can't believe that I have such a passion for a show about Zombies!" If anyone had told me that I would be so invested in a Zombie show, I would have never believed them. lol

I remember going to The Night of the Living Dead at the theater in the 70s. One of my friend's had to run out of the show and throw up. lmao! And that was in black and white!! I wonder if SHE is a Walking Dead fan now? haha! Times have certainly changed.

I really can't wait for the season finale this Sunday. I was hoping it was a 2 hour episode but I don't think that it is. I do watch the "Talking Dead" after and the RIP is cute. I agree with CL-Ed that if you don't see someone get chomped or killed there is a chance of survival and Carol had to come back now that Lori is gone there has to be a new romance line....darrl and carol.
