VIP casino was established in 1999 and it is a sister casino to InterCasino. Like other online casinos you can play for real or for fun, but unfortunately there are no games playable via flash in your web browser. So even if you just want to tryout or practice, you will have to download and install the software.

The homepage is very simple and easy to navigate and use. It has pretty much everything you need from downloading to banking options. Unfortunately their services are not available to players from the U.S., U.S. Virgin Islands, Turkey, China, Hong Kong and Macau.

Games

VIP Casino offers all classic table and card games in Las Vegas. They have 180 games available, including a variety of versions of blackjack, roulette and video poker.

They have classic and video slot games which have bonus rounds and progressive jackpots. Games are designed with colorful graphics. Some, such as the Marvel slots and Bejeweled, have been adapted from famous comics and games. For high stakes I recommend rapid fire jackpot or any of the casino progressive jackpot slots.

If an interested customer has a slow internet connection and therefore cannot download the software with ease, they can request a CD to be delivered at no charge. The software is easy to install and has a step by step guide.

Prizes and Pay Outs

The most recent promotion offered is for new players, who receive a 50% bonus upon their first deposit. You also earn comp points for playing games - a chart is listed on the site for the player's reference.

VIP Casino has 12 different progressive games where you can win a jackpot up to $2 million. You can also enter their monthly tournaments for a chance to win $1,000. You will be given $1,000 chips to play with when you pay the $20 buy-in fee and you then have an hour's playtime to build as much of a chip stack as possible.

The website has an extensive list of pay out rates that are often not included on other casino websites. The latest published report at the time of this review showed that VIP Casino’s total pay out rate was 96.43% for January 2007. Interestingly, they paid out 102% on blackjack for the same month.

Banking and Support

They use ECash Direct for e-commerce transactions to serve as fraud prevention. VIP Casino accepts major credit cards. Other payment and deposit methods are through NETeller, FirePay, Citadel, Wire transfer and Checks. Customer support can be contacted through a toll free number and e-mail.

I recently tried out VIP Casino in order to write this review. Depositing $200, I was credited with a $100 bonus and headed straight for the blackjack table. Playing multi-hand blackjack with three $3 hands at a time, I went past the wagering requirements ($3000) with around $340 in the bank. A great result for a couple of hours of fun.

VIP's software is provided by Cryptologic, which means it looks good, but isn't the fastest to play through (see our Cryptologic software review). One tip: don't forget to switch on turbo mode after your first hand, otherwise you'll see the cards being dealt animation every time. Another minor annoyance is the rotating logo they put at the bottom of the casino window. I guess you kind of learn to ignore it after a while, but why they choose to animate it constantly is a mystery.

I then tried my hand at a Texas Hold-em Bonus tournament which cost $20 to buy in. They give you $1000 in chips and you try to build your balance up as much as possible within the one hour playing time limit they give you (note you don't have to play the whole one hour in one hit). Anyway I was setting pretty at the top of the leaderboard with a stack of $2800 with 4 minutes to play at the end of the month. Unfortunately I lost track of my time limit and it ran out, while others continued to play. I was overtaken by two players, who earned $1000 for first and $500 for second, leaving me with $100 for third. Definitely no complaints with third place, and it was good to play something different after a couple of hours of blackjack.

Look out for a feature article on casino tournament strategy and maybe even a private tournament or two for members of this site in the future.
