Review of Silver Oak Casino

Silver Oak Casino is a Real Time Gaming powered casino accepting US players, boasting an impressive website and a commitment to 24/7 customer service. Unfortunately for Silver Oak, it appears to have purchased the assets (i.e. player database) of, and subsequently re-branded the notorious Crystal Palace clip joint after the death of its owner Warren Cloud. We say unfortunately because they have bought for themselves possibly the worst reputation amongst online casinos today, which may not be all that surprising when you find out who the new owners really are...

Blacklisted - owned by rogue operators

In our testing of Silver Oak casino we admittedly encountered nothing majorly untoward, save for a very slow withdrawal process that took over two weeks to send us our money, which is frankly not good enough. But it is hard to shake off the unease we feel about the purchase of the player-base of a known rogue operation. After all we have to think that the new operator was fully aware of the reputation of the Crystal Palace group. If not then they either didn't do their due diligence, or they didn't care - not a comforting scenario either way.

We made enquiries directly with Silver Oak about the relationship with the Warren Cloud / Crystal Palace group and were assured that there was nothing more than a purchase of assets from a defunct operator. At face value this is hard to dispute, as their website fails to provide any clues as to the ownership or even the operating jurisdiction of the casino (we have since been tipped that it is Costa Rica), which is in itself not a good sign. However other clues do not sit comfortably with us, such as the association with Chris DeAngelo, a faithful Cloud employee (see contact details at the bottom of buzzword filled press release).

Update March 2010: it appears our suspicions were warranted as it has come to our attention that this casino and the rest in its group were in fact purchased by owners of the notorious Virtual Casino Group (Cool Cat Casino, Club Player Casino, Palace of Chance and more). This is more than enough reason for us to permanently blacklist these guys. Do not deposit your money at this casino or any others in the group which includes: Captain Jack Casino, Cat's Eye Casino, Gold Stream Casino, Lucky Palm Casino, Pharaohs Gold Casino, Ringmaster Casino, Royal Ace Casino, Planet 7 Casino (do these guys realise that the 7th planet in the solar system is Uranus?)

In our opinion playing here is just not worth the risk.

1/3/2010

I registered today with a 150$ no deposit free chip on Silver Oaks.
While playing, I triggered a Random Jackpot for over 4k$ with my remaining playthrough at about 3.6k

So I say to myself, OK - lets bet 100$ a spin to resolve the remaining playthrough since it doesn't matter much anyways.
Now, the thing with the bonus coupons today is that when you beat the playthrough, the excess amount is withdrawn
to the maximum alotted. The money moves from a bonus state into a cash state.

Well, due to the lag in the transaction process and my excited spinnage, the bonus money removed itself, and my balance was 150$
as I clicked the 100$ bet spin button again.

NOOOOOO, but then, wait?!? I triggered the feature!!

Total win is approximately 9,000$!! How exciting lol

So I check out the transaction history and low and behold, the automatic withdrawal for the extra
bonus money did in fact happen (it was some -5,000 adjustment abouts.)

Now, my account has about 9,300 USD in it and I have submitted my faxback forms.

~ Based on the occurance of events, I should be entitled to the full amount! The question lies in the payout process ~

I will be posting updates as they come in!

Please do keep us informed. As it says in the review we are a little wary of this casino so it would be good to hear some confirmed feedback one way or the other. Note their maximum withdrawal of $2500 per week, so if they do pay you as they should you will probably have to wait 4 weeks to get it all.

Oh, no problem with waiting.

But RTG has such a foul reputation, I would love to see what happens!
It's such a wonderful, improbable circumstance that will shed a LOT of light on the online community Smile

Chat log continues as followed:

A site operator will be with you momentarily. Please be reminded, in order to ensure your future deposits and withdrawals are processed efficiently, it is very important to verify that we have your current personal information updated in our system along with any documentation necessary for withdrawals. Thank you for your cooperation.
Thank you for using our LiveChat Service. This is 'Amanda'. How can I help you?
Amanda: Hello, Welcome to Silver Oak Casino!
Brandon Germain: hello Amanda,
Brandon Germain: a recent cashout request was declined and the amount was removed
Brandon Germain: can you provide information regarding this?
Brandon Germain: hello?
Amanda: im here
Amanda: sorry
Amanda: may i have the username please?
Brandon Germain: bgermain
Brandon Germain: I would like some understanding and explanation regarding the current status of my account
Brandon Germain: Basically, here is my end of the story:
Brandon Germain: If you can see the no deposit coupon was redeemed and played, the playthrough had completed and the excess funds removed
Brandon Germain: 1/3/2010 4:24:21 PM Coupon Reversal Withdrawal Approved! ($5,316.71) 1/3/2010 4:24:21 PM Coupon Reversal Withdrawal Requested ($5,316.71) 1/3/2010 3:55:04 PM Coupon 'NODEPOSIT150 ' redeemed $150.00
Brandon Germain: At this point, I have cleared the playthrough and the amount was awarded as cash credit (no longer in a bonus status)
Brandon Germain: I continue to play and was very lucky to have won what I did.
Brandon Germain: I can understand if the excess was removed before playthrough was completed as the maximum coupon yield was 150$. However at the point the excess funds were removed, the coupon had resolved.
Amanda: One more moment. I apologize for the wait.
Please wait while I transfer the chat to 'Danny'.
Thank you for using our LiveChat Service. This is 'Danny'. How can I help you?
Brandon Germain: Hey Danny
Danny: hello
Brandon Germain: has the previous transcript been transferred to you?
Brandon Germain: I was forwarded by Amanda.
Danny: allow me to catch up with the chat
Danny: be right with you
Brandon Germain: excellent.
Brandon Germain: take your time please
Danny: you have ($150.00) approved today
Danny: in about 7 business days it will be sent out
Danny: that is the max cash out on the free chip
Brandon Germain: I understand that, isn't that what this transaction represents though?
Brandon Germain: 1/3/2010 4:24:21 PM Coupon Reversal Withdrawal Approved! ($5,316.71) 1/3/2010 4:24:21 PM Coupon Reversal Withdrawal Requested ($5,316.71)
Brandon Germain: the coupon itself was reduced to 150, and the balance was transferred from bonus into cash.
Brandon Germain: it was at that point I continued to play and was very lucky enough to continue my winnings.
Danny: yes Coupon Reversal It means that the playthrough amount is completed, leaving you with the cash able amount from the free chip you used.
Danny: which is $150 we denied and kept every single penny
Danny: and we only send you $150
Danny: Is there anything else that I can help you with?
Brandon Germain: right I understand that
Brandon Germain: so I was left with the cashable amount - please do not misunderstand
Brandon Germain: I'm simply trying to understand
Brandon Germain: there's also the other transaction after that coupon reversal
Brandon Germain: 1/12/2010 12:51:45 PM Promo Credit Withdrawal Approved! ($9,150.00) 1/12/2010 12:51:45 PM Promo Credit Withdrawal Requested ($9,150.00)
Brandon Germain: this happened after the coupon reversal, after playing with the remaining cashable portion
Danny: yes that's right all happen as it should
Danny: your just making more complicated
Danny: forget everything and only focus on $150
Danny: understood ?
Brandon Germain: I do understand - so what you are saying is that, after coupon reversal happens, the amount leftover can only be withdrawn and cannot be played with?
Danny: yes
Danny: 10 business days from the 12th your $150 should be sent out
Danny: any other questions ?

Danny: Have fun and good luck!
Chat session has ended. This may have been a technical error.

I find Danny's dismissive and patronising tone disgusting. I am contacting the casino on your behalf. If this is not resolved satisfactorily they will be blacklisted as this just seems to confirm our fears about them.

Received this reply to our enquiries from Nick at Silver Oak (emphasis added by me):

Quote:

The rules say that $150 is the max cash out for this particular free chip.

So payout cannot be beyond $150 if he is continuously playing which the
player did. Yes he could have requested the withdrawal and deposited it back, then he would be eligible for the whole 9k.

Bottom line is until the player makes a deposit he is makes a deposit he is
only eligible for what the rule says for the free chip.

I agree, I have suggested they fix their systems so that any money above the maximum amount is only removed from your account when you make a withdrawal, not before. It seems bizarre to me that the only thing stopping you from getting your winnings was not making a withdrawal in between. Its blatantly denying your money on a technicality.

Hi! Just wanted to share my story... I redeemed a $50 free chip with a max cashout of $500 and after playing, requesting my winnings, and reading all the posts on this casino I was sure I would never be getting paid however, after about 1 month of waiting I got a check via Fed-Ex. I couldn't believe it but they paid me after verifying all playthrough requirements had been met. Since then I've deposited but have had no luck winning but if I do, I will definitely post that experience as well.

Hi yadi79, I am glad you got your money but you would be far better off playing at any of the Club World casinos (Club USA, Aladdin's Gold, Lucky Red etc), Slots Plus or iNetBet. All have exactly the same games as Silver Oak but they won't make you wait 1 month to get paid which is just ridiculous.

I recently won $1000. and requested a payout. Filled out fax back form and sent it out, then told I needed to send an email for each attachment as it was too "heavy" for their servers, which I only found out after contacting them. Did this twice. After 2 weeks no money and no contact from them on what is happening. Do Not Play Here. Everything listed above is true.

Stay as far away fromt his casino and any affiliated casino. Mike, who works at the casino as a supervisor, just explained to me that money i just won, a total of 3200.00 dollars, is not actually my money. This is the most bogus casino Stay away. They decide when you win and when you lose and I lost. Stay away its a scam, 100%. Their customer support barely speaks English and the supervisors hang up the phone.

My account said i had $3,200.00 and I went to withdrew my money. and they zeroed it out,
SILVER OAKS CASINO IS A SCAM !!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY DON”T TRUST SILVER OAKS CASINO.

Mike, who hangs up because you stumped him, caught in his own lie. This is the true side of the business, scam the winners.

I punched in a code and started playing the correct slot game that the code said to play, it only became a problem when i wanted money.

I am new here but loving this site. I have had to deal with all the madness of Silveroak as well, and I have learned my lesson, but the one thing that I cannot get over is the fact that they DO NOT have those progressives on their site that are listed on the home page and this page. Jackpot Pinatas/Shopping Sprees/Jackpot Cleopatras Gold , etc....they are not part of the casino software you download from Silveroak. After being told by a worthless rep that I installed my software incorrectly (is that possible even?) and that was why they were missing, I actually forced him to check and when he finally came back , his response " I'll notify my manager" and he disconnected. Good Times!

Interesting and thanks for the tip gambitlee. Those progressives are RTG pooled progressives so our software just assumes that if a casino is RTG they must have them. But after looking at their site it seems they must be running their own progressives (and trust me they aren't ones you would want to win... you would probably wait 25 years to be paid in full, if at all). We'll have to update it so that they don't show for these guys.

I have been playing at Silver Oak for about 9 months using the 200% no playthrough no max cashout slot bonuses. Cashed out $2500 in July (took 3 weeks to get my wire transfer after they deducted the bonus amount from my winnings) and another $2500 Sept 1st (approved but not received yet) . I tried to redeem another 200% bonus code last night and it was declined. I went to live chat and was told "the Casino manager decided that you no longer needed the no playthrough no max cashout bonus that was meant for players to get something back." I asked him to show me where the bonus stated that anyone who wins cannot use it and he said "It's a managers decision and I cannot change it" I was transfered to the VIP Department and spoke to a very friendly and helpful rep Isabelle. She stated that the manger gets a list of payouts and can disable certain bonuses (no playthrough requirements / no max cashout) Perhaps they will reconsider after they notice that I am no longer playing.

Oct 7th and have still not received my cashout requested Sept 1st. I was told the processor would not send the bank wire I asked for so a check had to be mailed instead. They said this was sent Wednesday Oct 5th. My bonus codes are still disabled. They do not seem to care that I am no longer depositing.

downdraft: ok, after I fax you this stuff, how is the fastest way for you to pay me?
downdraft: wire?
Sean: You only have 2 options
downdraft: well?
Sean: From $100 to $299 you will get it via money gram or western union
Sean: $300 or more goes back via check through fedex
downdraft: can you mail my check to me in Saipan?
Sean: What is Saipan?
Sean: Your checks will be mailed to your billing address
downdraft: Saipan is a US territory next to Guam, I am a Airline pilot and live there
Sean: You mean near Japan?
downdraft: no, near guam
Sean: I have a Florida address
Sean: Well yes, is 2000 km away from Japan
Sean: That's closer to Japan than to the U.S
downdraft: I also have an apartment in Florida but wont be there for awhile, need my check sent to Saipan
Sean: Anyway, we have a FL address
Sean: I'm afraid that won't be possible
downdraft: Saipan address does not work on you site..
downdraft: my billing address for the card I used is Florida
Sean: Yes, of course, and that is the address that works for payments too
downdraft: I have Utility, drivers license from saipan too
downdraft: How long will it take for you to mail my check once I fax you this stuff?
Sean: There's the matter that we can't send a check to Saipan
Sean: We are trying to find the best option for you
downdraft: it is a hassle but you can send it to Florida, how long?
Sean: There's also a problem with the games you played
downdraft: whats the problem?
Sean: You were using a coupon code for slots and keno only
Sean: When you take a coupon that specifically says Slots and Keno only, those are the only games you can play
Sean: No other games allowed
downdraft: you only gave me 200, I spent a total of credits of 1400
downdraft: or more..
Sean: When you take a slots and keno only coupon, you are able to play slots and keno only
Sean: No other games are allowed
downdraft: so what is my check for?
Sean: And if you play any other games, you will forfeit your winnings
downdraft: You guys are all over the net as crooks
downdraft: I will go ahead and start my own special website for you
downdraft: You guys are a ripp off
Sean: Sure
downdraft: so, how much are my winnings?
Sean: You did not have any winnings
Sean: Because you played games that were not allowed
Sean: I'm afraid that the coupon is a slots and keno only
downdraft: so why did you take my 1000.00 balance?
Sean: I explained several times
Sean: When you take a bonus for slots and keno only, and you play all the games you played, which are not included
Sean: For example, BlackJack, is not included in Slots and keno only
Sean: Baccarat is not even allowed when playing with a bonus code
Sean: Craps is not even allowed when playing with a bonus code
Sean: Video Poker is also not considered slots or keno
Sean: I believe you forgot to read our casino rules
downdraft: why didnt your system say "Not Allowed" like a "IP address wasrning, you just let people gamble them ripp them off. It doesnt matter if you win, you guys never pay..
downdraft: you should take a moment and read some of you reviews on the net..
Sean: When you are working, does your plain tell you constantly not to shot people with a gun?
Sean: You know for a fact because it's the law. You can't people
Sean: Or you go to prison
downdraft: Silver Oak will not payout winnings Posted: 12th November 2009, 10:27 AM by mb1443 I received a free $250 voucher to try out their casino and won just under $12,000 and at first was told the requirements for cash out was that i had to of wagered more than $7,500 before i could cash out so i ended up wagering over $10,000 and still had about $11,500 in my account. sent documents they said were required for withdraw and waited 3 days still couldn't make a withdraw so i called and was told the must i would be able to cash out was 5 times the original voucher so $1,250 and that my documents were still being processed and to call back. so i went back to the casino and lost all of the money won except for the $1250 I was told i would be allowed to cash out. I call back the next day and i am told that they will not pay and they are going to put my account to a zero balance, because i played 9 rounds of roulette out of the thousands wagered and hours of playing they said they would not pay over 9 rounds of roulette. dont ask me what the problem is with playing roulette it is not where any of the money was won if anything i lost money there. This casino is a COMPLETE rip off and i urge you to avoid this place and play at reputable casino's because this one is NOT. Don't play at Silver Oaks if you like to win because even if you do they WILL NOT PAY
Sean: But in real life you won't be getting a pop-up message
downdraft: read this
Sean: I don't need to read that sir
downdraft: look, I am an airline pilot, not an idiot
Sean: That will not change the fact that you played non-allowed games
Sean: You did not read the casino rules
downdraft: how can 100's of people say the same thing??
Sean : you took a bonus that is clearly labeled slots and keno only
Sean : and played other games

First up, sorry you have had this experience. ID verification is very common to online casinos, because they need to ensure people aren't running multiple accounts or doing anything dodgy. Some players like to have the casino verify their ID before they deposit at a casino so there can be no delays later if/when they win. If you prefer that, you just need to ask your casino if they will do it and most will.

The casino is right in that it is common to restrict bonus play to certain games. Almost all online casinos do it. However...

I agree with this. If a game is not allowed the software should block you from playing it. This would be simple to implement technically. I have been saying it for years, but hardly any casinos do it (from memory maybe 3Dice and Party Casino are the only ones I know of to do it). The cynic in me thinks this may be because it helps them in times like these. But to be fair, this is a problem common to all casinos that use the same RTG software, even the good ones, and not just Silver Oak.

Missing words and mangled English aside, what has shooting someone got to do with playing restricted games on a bonus? If he is trying to say that people knowing they can't shoot other people is just as commonly known as the wagering restrictions on a casino bonus, then he is an idiot. If he isn't saying that, he still sounds like an idiot.

Did you actually receive the refund?

Ugh...I have been playing at this casino for at least 10 months, never made a single withdrawl, came close but not even once. A few months ago I had surgery but had made several deposits in a row without using any free chips. After being out of work a little while and broke they would not let me redeem any free chips. Gave me one excuse after another such as they were expired or I was not directly from the affiliate. I sent several emails and got no response. They lost me a while ago and after reading this page I feel sure I made the right choice! Cry Cry Cry Cry

Nothing beats feedback from other players about an online casino, be it good or bad. If you have experience with this casino then we would love to hear about it.
