Review of bwin Casino

If you’re looking for a versatile gambling brand that caters to all your gambling tastes, then Bwin initially appears promising. Owned by Bwin International Ltd, Bwin Casino is stable, secure and backed by a multi-national corporation with interests in sports betting, poker, and casual games alongside the casino operation. The casino is licensed and operated out of Gibraltar and the parent company is a vocal member of the European Gaming and Betting Association. However it made a rod for its own back in 2010 by stealing a large sum of money from affiliate marketers that has promoted its business over the years.

Blacklisted due to theft from affiliate marketers

In 2010 Bwin decided to rebrand their affiliate marketing arm of the business and launched the all new (at the time) Bewinners affiliate program. Sadly they made the unfortunate mistake of deciding to metaphorically raise the middle finger and discontinue paying hundreds of thousands in "lifetime" commissions that were contractually owed to affiliate marketers that promoted Bwin through various channels. To be clear, Casino Listings did not suffer any financial loss from this decision. However we feel that a company that cannot be trusted to fulfil its financial obligations with its affiliates and suppliers cannot be trusted when dealing with players either. We therefore advise players to avoid Bwin casino, poker and sportsbook.

Software choice to suit

Somewhat unique in their offering, bwin Casino gives players a choice of two different sets of software. The download version, available only to Windows PC users, is powered by Boss Media casino software. They also offer an instant play casino using software by Chartwell Technology which can be played on any operating system that supports flash in the browser. You can try all of the no download flash games obligation free at the bwin site, without even having to sign up for an account. And last but not least, yes you can sign up for both the download and instant play casinos, and you can even claim a deposit bonus on each.

As for the games, there is a decent selection offering plenty of fun entertainment to choose from. You can choose from table games including roulette, blackjack, craps, and caribbean stud poker among others, through to three and five reel video slots, and of course video poker. However if we were to pick one thing that we think would improve Bwin, it would be to expand on the selection of games (especially the slots) - the variety simply isn't as big as that offered by most premier online casinos.

Prizes and promotions

The promotions at bwin Casino are solid, if unspectacular, especially for new players. As mentioned above, you can in fact claim two welcome bonuses - one for each of your first deposits into the download and instant play casinos. Both sign up bonuses will give you a 50% match bonus of up to €200 each.

bwin Casino also features a loyalty (comp) program which offers you 1 loyalty point for every €10 you bet. This can be exchanged for chips which you can use for real money gambling.

Banking options and customer support

bwin accepts a variety of currencies, but mainly transacts in Euros. You can withdraw and deposit your money using a multitude of deposit and withdrawal options that vary according to your country of residence, and withdrawals are processed in a quick and efficient manner. Support is offered via email, phone, fax, and regular postal mail. Unfortunately the support is not 24/7 - operating between the hours of 0800 and 2400 in the Austrian time zone (GMT+1).

Overall Bwin Casino is a huge disappointment. While it is backed by a serious corporate entity and is famous throughout Europe due to its sponsorship of various sporting teams and competitions, the disgraceful Bewinners situation means that it is clear that the people running the casino cannot be trusted. Trust is just about the most important commodity any online casino possesses, and when it is gone, it is gone for good. Avoid.

When I first joined BWIN it was for the poker - however recently i've struck an interest in sports betting and have also been taken by there skills games - particularily their Hole-in-One and Scarab Solitaire. It's an all-in one site for gamblers. They have a good loyalty program "b'inside" where you can shop in the "market" with your earned points. Along with more slots in the casino, I would also like to see them improve their promotions and bonuses. I don't think they promote the casino nearly enough.

Nothing beats feedback from other players about an online casino, be it good or bad. If you have experience with this casino then we would love to hear about it.
