Free play casino bonuses are a special type of bonus mostly offered by a range of Microgaming casinos. The casino provides you with a set amount of free chips to play with for a time limit, say 1 hour. You take the free chips and attempt to win more by playing a variety of games. At the end of the hour, or any time you want to stop before that, you are then allowed to keep any winnings you make out of the free chips up to a certain limit (see Max column below). The important thing to note is that these winnings are not straight cash that you can withdraw - they are in fact a bonus that you receive with your first deposit to the casino, which is then subject to the usual playthrough requirements, also listed below.

These free play bonuses can often be far more lucrative than a straight deposit bonus offered by the casino. For example, if you could win up to $200 during the free play session, and then the casino has a minimum deposit of $20, it equates to a 1000% first deposit bonus. Contrast that with the common 100% sign-up bonuses and you can see why you might like to try your luck on a free play bonus. After all, in most cases you can usually still claim the regular first deposit bonus even if you do not win on the free play session.
Note for U.S. players: unfortunately most of the free play bonuses are offered by Microgaming casinos which currently do not accept new players from the USA. If you are looking for some free casino offers check out our no deposit bonuses page, or you can find a massive list of slots bonuses here.
